There are many ways in which photographers visual style attracts the public. They have a similar style surrounding their work. The images similar feel, will create a independent style which will be know towards your work. For instance Martin Parr’s Images are very associate as they have a certian look to them. For him Saturation and contrast make his images very unique to his photography.

Just typing in his name you can visual see that they all have a very similar look. This creates a style that is resembled around Parr’s work. This is just through his editing, but as a photography it is important to have a style in which your images look and feel.

This Recognition helps make that photographer stand out in a crowd of people. There are negatives to this as if the viewer doesn't like your particular style of the work, then you could loose that person interest, but having a regular and recurring theme throughout your images is vital to build yourself as a photographer.

For instance at the current moment lifestyle photographers seem to be fading the images, These seem to be very popular, and for myself when i see these images i associate them with lifestyle photography.

Just typing into google “Lifestyle Photography” brings up a selection of images which have a very soft feel, they also all have shadows which are slightly faded. This is a theme which, has no got an association for “lifestyle photography” Having a theme similar to this when doing lifestyle would it into the themes of the market already, but may not make you stand out in the market that is something which is vital in photography.

Due to the digital age the use of post production is in use more than ever, may it be a filter on a phone app, such as Instagram, or VSCO. A slightly more used software for photographers is Photoshop or Lightroom. On photoshop you are able to change the photo software, to something which doesn't look like the original photo. For Lightroom you can tweak and change the standard things such as; Contrast, Exposure, Temp, but you are also able to make presets of your chosen style. A Preset is a set of tweaks that you do to all your images that give your pictures the same feel and look. This means that each and every photo will be similar. You can also whilst importing your images to Lightroom apply it which enables you to have a quick turn around from taking the picture to the final image. This is slightly more for significant for event photography, such as weddings, but is still used in freelance. Andrew Kearns has made his own preset, in order to ensures all his pictures have his desired look. If you want to make a preset then creating one from scratch is important, as then you are not creating an identity around your work you are just copying someone else's.

From researching most people one for e.g. is ( Andrew Kearns) start of using a look they like and then work from there until you are happy with the outcome. Sites like VSCO have film presets that can recreate the aesthetic of Film cameras.

There are many other VSCO companies that offer similar presets as VSCO. But in short, when editing your images it is important to do so that will continue your brand identity, with doing the same style and theme. This is important for getting recognised for that work.
