Oh, I never said Kyrie isnt a really damn good player.
The job relegated to a younger, quicker Austin Rivers.
Which was a bad idea. Rivers isnt a good defender.
THE ONE PLAYER WITH BIGGER BALLS THAN “THE KING” ON CRUCIAL AND CLUTCH MOMENTS, AND HE GOT LEBRON AND THE WHOLE TEAM THEIR FIRST RING.
Because he hit one shot? Yeah he had a great series, but James was the main reason they won, not Kyrie.
If you’re planning on contending now and the next year, you probably take CP3. But with everything put into perspective, Kyrie Irving is the better (and safest) choice.
Which is what Houston wants to do. So no trade for Kyrie who I think wouldnt be a good fit next to Harden anyway.
As for the injuries, both have suffered injuries throughout his career. But Kyrie is coming off a relatively healthy season,
I’d argue with that. Throughout the year, the knee which he had the surgery on, reportedly caused him problems, even during the Finals. (Which explains his underwhelming performance)
Additionally, I think Kyrie is at his peak right now. I just dont see much room for improvement there, aside from giving more effort on the defensive end. So despite his age, its very well possible that his prime is right now.
