Edie Sedgwick: Bob Dylan’s Tragic Sexy Muse

She’s the be-all. And part of me still wants to be her. She died at 28 of a drug overdose, had fake friends, was used and abused… but she looked so glamorous! And how can something that looks so expensive be so cheap? And that’s just it: it’s all surface glow. No substance underneath. But I’m a magpie and I love sparklies, and I want to believe that THIS ONE TIME it will be what I’ve been looking for, it will be the nourishment I crave. But maybe sustenance doesn’t reside in style or charisma. My heart hurts for the tragedy that was Edie. I want so much more for that girl. And for this one.
