The Reality Behind the Interview #72

“You live kind of far away. You don’t want to make this commute.”

Imagination: “No, I don’t. But I took note of your location when I applied and wouldn’t have done so if I wasn’t willing to make the commute. You apparently didn’t even read my resume to see where I lived to begin with. You could have saved us both some time by not calling me in if you feel people who live in my city are too far away. Believe me, if there were jobs any closer to me I’d be applying for them. But there aren’t, and I need money.”

Reality: “I make this commute all the time! It’s easy and won’t be an issue for me.”
