Yoga is mental as well as physical exercise that gives immense relax to our body and mind. Today’s generation has ’n’ numbers of issues like competition, relative growth, family issues etc. which cause anxiety and mental issues. Medication can help at an extent but Yoga can cure them from the root. In the fast moving modern world, it is easy to become distracted and overwhelmed by work and lifestyle demands. Yoga improves concentration and focus by calming the mind and reducing distractions. This brings clarity of thought and focused attention, increased productivity, creativity, and overall well being.

Yoga has history spanning numerous centuries, and it has been practiced by millions of people worldwide. It is a lifestyle that incorporates physical and mental well being. Practice of Yoga has proven to be a valuable tool for Global well being. Regular practice of Yoga helps to reduce stress and anxiety that leads to various health problems such as high blood pressure, depression, heart disease and lack of focus. Yoga can alleviate the levels of stress hormone cortisol.

Yoga helps to improve physical health. It is an excellent mind body practice that helps to improve flexibility, strength, endurance and balance. It can also help to alleviate the chronic pain and improve respiratory functions. Regular yoga practice can also help to boost the immune system by improving overall health.

One of the fundamental principles of yoga is Aparigraha or non possessiveness which teaches us to use what is necessary and to leave the rest for others. Maharishi Patanjali envisaged restraints and observances that have the potential to help people and nations to deal with global challenges and help the world to achieve the 2030 UN Sustainable Development Goals. Yoga can also help to promote cultural awareness and diversity.

The science of Yoga helps to connect the individual consciousness with the universal consciousness and takes us a step closer towards attainting a disease free body and a calm and a peaceful mind. It is an art and science of life that brings an improvement both in physical and mental well being by means of posture , controlled breathing techniques, relaxation and calms the mind through meditation.
