Coat of Arms

Human psychology works in such way, that the first impression we get about a person or a place is the strongest. I was walking around Canterbury’s campus and noticed a large Canterbury logo on top of the Athletic Center. First of all, I was surprised at how I have not noticed the logo before. Secondly, I tried to understand why architects decided to put it there and what Canterbury ideals they were trying to present in their message.

I guess the primary goal of the logo is to welcome visiting teams from other schools. The secondary goal is to inspire Canterbury athletes before their games and matches. The logo reminds those who go to away games to remain Saints and represent Canterbury pride at its finest.
