It’s sad that our ability to hear so many different perspectives increases hate rather than empathy. Instead of trying to understand where “the other side” (oh how I hate to use that term) is coming from, many Internet users would rather pick at one aspect of what was said and create a supervillain in their minds. I guess it’s easy to hate someone who doesn’t have a face, who you’ll never interact with in your day-to-day life. I just don’t understand the appeal. Wouldn’t it be more constructive to try to understand each other, so that we can build a world that is maybe not ideal for everyone, but at least better than what we’ve got?
Then again, probably too many people wouldn’t know what to do with their time if they weren’t getting into Facebook comment wars.
