How to Eat Healthy While Eating Out

Eating Healthy while eating out is always a challenge, but by following a few simple rules you can keep on track and enjoy time with friends and family!

First let’s talk about where to eat! I will always recommend farm to table local restaurants over chain restaurants. For the simple reason is you know where the food is from, how it’s prepared, and you are supporting your local businesses. Local fare tends to keep portions reasonable, food made and served fresh, and with less sodium and chemical additives.

Many chain restaurants have pre-made their meals and have either added preservatives or frozen the meals to maintain consistency to each establishment. This adds extra sodium, and other chemicals additives into our bodies that aren’t always welcome. …

Breast Size and Exercise

One of the issues many women who go through a weight loss transformation discover is we lose breast size. As women this can impact the way we think about ourselves, self confidence, and affect our partner’s perspective on exercising to lose weight.

Before you run out to check out your local plastic surgeons Christmas specials let’s talk about what is happening to your body and how it’s actually a good thing.

Breaking it down each woman is different, we know that, but especially when it comes to breast size and what makes up the breast. Some women will have denser breast tissue; in this case exercise will not normally affect the size of the breast. But there is also Fatty tissue in our breast, and if you are primarily made up of fatty tissue weight loss will dramatically affect breast size. …

Around the world we spend Billions of dollars for anti aging creams, elixirs and treatments, 410.3 Billion to be exact in 2015. We all want to find the fountain of youth, but is this really the answer? Spending ridiculous amounts of money on Creams that promise less wrinkles, or injections that help us lose any expression at all to our face eventually wear off or doesn’t work at all.

But looking at our body and how it works, and using this to our advantage may save us financially and physically in the long run. …

If you ask any woman over the age of 20 if they have tried a “fad” diet, 9 times out of ten they will tell you yes. These quick fixes can help you drop pounds, but ultimately leave gaining all the weight back plus some.

But they also leave us with a nasty little friends we call eating disorders. Eating disorders can be considered taboo, only found in certain age groups, or professions. But the truth is they are evident in everyday life, in everyday people.

We all know the main disorders like anorexia and bulimia. But there are also disorders that make us avoid/restrict certain nutrients to “trick” our body into losing weight. This leaves us with anxiety and depression, and poor health and increased weight gain. From starving our bodies, restricting fat, not eating carbohydrates, or taking fast loss pills or patches, we have created monsters within ourselves. …

Losing weight can have enormous benefits for your body physically but do mental/emotional aspects of our life effect the process itself? I my opinion, yes….

Many of us have a bad self body image, looking in the mirror each morning is a session of what part do I hate the most today. And we really should not feel this way, but loving your body and self confidence is a hard sell these days. Every other post on social media seems to target you to improve your body with some quick fix sold by family and friends like “5 min abs”, “lose 20 this week!!”, “Wear this Patch, have the energy of super hero”, “two shakes a day and a sensible meal”…. …

It’s very surreal, thinking I try and live a healthy lifestyle, stay moving, eat right…. But life and nature may have another plan for me. In 6 days part of my cervix will be removed to eliminate precancerous cells. Now this isn’t a story to grab attention and make people feel sorry for me, please don’t I want this to be a PSA on way keeping on top of yearly exams and finding the right doctors are important.

So long very personal story short, for about 10 years my pap smears have been coming back with atypical cell reports. This meaning that my cells aren’t cancerous, but just not normal. My OBGYN at the time stated it happened all the time and there was no reason to worry. So every year I would go in and get the same results and collect my script for birth control. No big deal right? …
