Love is like anything in life. It shouldn’t feel like sharp peaks, because sharp peaks have dramatic drops and deep valleys. And it shouldn’t always feel like earth-shattering, eyeball-bursting passion, because just like peaks and valleys, on the other side of that level of “up” is an equal depth of “down.” And as anybody who’s used any kind of substance knows, chasing a “high” gets harder and harder — and you do eventually crash, only leaving you scrambling to recover that “good feeling” you once had.
