On why we marry (atleast men)

most people have a lot of time in their lives and they are extremely scared of spending it alone — because in case of spending it alone they are afraid that they might spend it in the wrong manner, or not the most efficient manner or in the most joyous manner or whatever parameter they value most/seek to maximise in life, hence the fear of not doing comparable justice with ur time, and it is hence people seek validation of their efforts, and in order for that they seek a partner, for whose life they are willing to give validation and who is intern willing go give them validation, mutually removing each other’s fear, and that i believe is among the core reasons why people marry apart from the direct peer pressure of not being married in a society where everyone is.

essentially as someone very more learned than me once said,we marry because we want testimony to our lives.
