The case of Nathan Brooks

In 1995, Nathan Brooks was a 17 year old high schooler living in Bellaire, Ohio. He was what you’d call a bit of a rebel. He drank alcohol quite often and was known to abuse drugs. Apparently, he claimed that he was also best friends with Satan.

At that time, the idea and culture of satanic worship was sweeping the nation. A lot of teens thought it was cool, and a lot of adults were terrified. Much of what was represented in the media to be satanic ritualistic really had nothing to do with with the origins of the religion. For many youth, it was the dark image that appealed to them. From the perspectives of parents, the minute they heard the words satanic worship — ideas of cults, sex, human sacrifices were the sort of things that came to mind.

While this wasn’t usually the case, Nathan Brooks was not the usual teenager.

Nathan’s Early Years

Nathan was an altar boy when he was younger. He dreamed of growing up to be a priest in his younger years and it was a babysitter who had introduced him to Satanism. For some reason, he completely flipped from Catholicism to an interest in the occult.

People at his high school said he generally seemed like a nice guy — he was a loner but people just thought he was quiet…
