I think that’s the crux of my argument. We do have the right to explore hypotheticals and I think the fact that these two men are willing to do that speaks to their privilege.

They are able to imagine what it would be like if slavery were still a thriving institution when I’m pretty sure the countless victims that lost their lives to this global massacre would cringe at the audacity of such a thing.

But, it is easier to attach a fantastical element to a horrifying event — when you aren’t personally crippled by its existence.
