How I boost productivity with this simple work environment trick

One of the best things about being a tech entrepreneur and running an online business is that you can work from literally anywhere — so long as you have your laptop and a decent wifi connection.

Sometimes, staying in your usual workplace for long hours can make you less productive. When our work environment becomes routine, we’re less excited to work and less likely to get more done in less time. One of the reasons could be that upon sitting at your home office or arriving at your work place, you become aware of the amount of work you have to do and the length of time you’ll be sitting there, just working — which in turn declines your productivity.

When I started noticing this pattern as I was coding TablesWork one day, I decided to write down exactly what features I’ll be working on that day and headed out to a nearby coffee shop and worked there for a few hours. Although it was quite busy and the wifi wasn’t great at all, I realized it significantly boosted my productivity and I got a lot more work done than usual. But I didn’t stop there, after a few hours, I met up with my co-founder at another coffee shop in the area and continued working for another hour or two.

The great thing about this productivity hack is that you can always switch up your work environment, follow a random order, and never get bored. I then headed home and worked a few more hours that day, and my productivity was still up since I hadn’t worked at home all day. I not only finished all the things I needed to do for the day, but I also had a few hours to relax and work on other tasks.
