The 3 Blogging Frequently Asked Questions (with my Answers)

“Blogger” — That is the latest new addition to my identity. Be it in my social / professional network — I am many times introduced as “That blogger?!” After an exchange of pleasantries — I’m almost always asked some questions around blogging. I’ve seen that the questions for a vast majority of the people I interact with are very similar. So I thought why not put my responses in a post? ;)

Q1) Why do you blog?

Answer

Because I love blogging and more importantly — I enjoy writing. Personally, I find blogging a creative process which compels me to use the left and right side of my brain. I enjoy creating a “blog-art — which is a reflection of my knowledge, ideas, thoughts, creativity, perspective and life experiences. Along the way I’ve discovered the very many benefits of blogging — from personal branding, to knowledge sharing, to learning new things, to fostering new relationships, to intellectual / emotional wellness, to personal time management.

Q2) How do you find time to blog?

Answer

Over years, I have discovered, refined and mastered the process and art of blogging in my personal context.

For starters, before I start every post — I am crystal clear on why I am writing it, what I want to say and what key take-away’s are there for a reader. From experience, I can say that take-away’s are almost always personal and subjective. But key is to get a reader to think, feel or learn something from a post.

Two, I plan my blogging efforts well in advance. It is well thought and well structured.

Three, I have de-constructed the blogging process to fit into my otherwise busy schedule of being a working mother.

Q3) How do you continuously get ideas for your blogs?

I get ideas and inspiration for my blog posts from observations, conversations, reading, introspection, interactions — basically life experiences, and an openness of mind, heart and perspective.

The most pleasant discovery I had was that the more ideas I came up with and the more I published — I got a dozen more new ideas!

So the trick is just start posting, and enjoy the journey. You will surely learn something from the experience. After all, that is what COUNTS! Right?
