Would love to get your thoughts on the following: Consumers do not necessarily care about energy, energy monitoring or even energy pricing. We’ve done some research and most people place it in the same box as ‘filing your taxes, or (in Holland) ‘choosing a health insurance’. Off course, Tesla and Solarcity have momentum now, but I believe it’s still largely dependent on the fact that Musk makes cars. People do like cars. 
We, people working in energy, usually get very excited about paradigm shifts. But we forget that the average Joe just wants to go fishing and watch Netflix. How do we engage them?
