Fourth week: developing poster02

According to my interview’s result, some interviewees say that the value of beauty is often associated with the appearance. In addition, there are some people who perceive that beautiful persons have much more job opportunities than others in the Eastern. Even though they don’t show their supports on this belief, they experience a lot. In professor’s english improvement, there is a description “Appearance is improtant to get a job”. I rewrite it to reflect Kruger’s method in words, which is “Your Appearance is important to get a job”.

I developed some sketches combing typography with facial character. I even thought to divide this idea into two posters for male and female viewers. After several rough drafts, I preferred to the one that illustrates a person looking at a mirror without a certain gender. I even considered that I can utilize a real mirror in my poster. It may bring interesting interactions with people who stand in front of it. Thereby, I might have enough challenges to show the relationship between materials (or print making) and my posters.

In this poster, I tried different constructions to demonstrate the connections between the caption and motifs. To me, the arrangement of words in figure 05 might bring reading confusion. Considering a balanced structure, a legible caption and my creativity, figure 02 and 03 are satisfied for me.

Next two weeks, I will keep doing the remaining posters. After completing pleased constructions in every poster on computer, I will select my final pieces and carry out them with printing and material combination.
