Review: I only have a semester of calc 1, and no linear algebra experience, much of the math in this book was a first encounter for me. The author is *incredibly* good at explaining concepts in a way that is easy to read while still clear, thorough, and professional. The exercises are great and have solutions. The pictures are clear.

I have done 2 semesters of CS major core courses: this book’s beginning chapter on classic CS theory taught more about that than anything I’ve encountered in college thus far (the attention given to classical logic gates and the practice exercises are exceptional).

Overall, thrilled by this book. Definitely feel that I will be competent to check out Mike and Ike upon finishing.

Review: I truly wish I had this book when I started my learning journey in quantum computing.

All concepts are explained clearly, with precise but manageable math (I suspect a motivated high school senior should be able to follow much of it). I especially liked the comparisons of complexity for classical vs quantum algorithm implementations. Well done!

In the practice sector the author gave us a lot of our questions with a lot of reading materials.
I think the author must understand what quantum competing is because he even invented a quantum card game

so it’s very very interesting and I when I read this book I can feel that the author really understands what quantum is.

If you want to learn some basic knowledge about the contemp beating this is the best book to start.
