The light switch (short story)

The light above turned on and off. And on and off, and on again. Flickering at a high pace.

The chair next to the wall reflected some of the light, but was touched by a small shadow.

A sudden explosion of sound happened close by, but why? Intimidating, but not enough to stop the ecstatic enjoyment of light and darkness dancing.

A sudden pain grips my arm. My fingers left the light switch, my small feet lifted off the chair. My body in the hands of darkness, played with like a dog plays with its toys. Violently.

The light the discovery of light switches had ignited faded slowly… as my body was left on the floor.
