Live like a stoic day one- Monday

Today I tried to live like a stoic by making sure I did the things in my control and not to worry about things which were not in my control. A perfect example of this was my printing issues. Today my geography assignment was due, but I had not printed it off- something I should have done beforehand and I should have been prepared but I wasn’t. I decided to print it off during the period, but I experienced printing difficulties. I tried for many minutes but my assignment would not print. I realised that this was the perfect situation for me to practise stoicism. I quickly realised that this was one of those situations where no matter what you do, the result you want won’t be achieved. I myself am not a printer, so I realised I could not to anything in this situation as it was not in my control. I payed the price by not being prepared, the consequence- handing in my geography assignment a day late. I learnt two important things, the first, if you have done everything in your control to try and achieve something and you can’t achieve it, you shouldn’t worry instead you need to calmly accept reality. The second lesson that I learnt was to be prepared before class, after experiencing this I will be prepared for future classes so I don’t find myself in this situation.
