Symptoms

  • Chlorioretinal atrophy
  • Hyperonithinemia
  • Myopia
  • Abnormal muscular morphology

Dietary guidelines

Reducing Proteins

Less protein diet is recommended so that there is less argnine which won’t change to ornithine

Vegetables and fruits should be consumed more

Low protein food included so vegetables and fruits are low in protein.

Calories shouldn’t be deficient

Food that should be avoided

  • Milk and Milk products
  • Meat, fish, chicken
  • Nuts
  • Beans
  • Egg

Low arginine diet

Low arginine diet restricts to lower the plasma ornithine level below and average of 5.29 to 6.61 mg/dl will also slow the loss of function.

Food avoided for low Arginine diet

  • Pumpkin seeds
  • Whole grains (corn, oats,)
  • Nuts .
