Nothing new but another article ranting about how the India startup ecosystem is not able to…

Rahul Patel — There’s a difference between can’t and don’t want to. I believe I belong to the latter group who does not want to enter this particular swimming pool. Not that I can’t. Afterall, all I need is a website, a reworked idea, and I am good to call myself a CEO. There’s no benchmarking you see.

Lets assume for a second, that I can’t enter this swimming pool. Does it take away my right to opinionate on it? Secondly, can I not make sense? If that is so, then Harsha Bhogle has no right to be commentating on a game he’s never played.

Lastly, I myself mentioned that I am an outsider and that I might not know all the names of niche Indian startups. OYO even though an inspired idea is worth of appreciation. Atleast it is onto filling a real gap. Redbus took the exit, where it could have tried to grow into something global. And lets not get started on PAYTM. It is like those Indian TV seriels who start off with a fresh plot, but eventually ending up like typical ‘saas-bahu’ show.
