That day I realized that the biggest happiness in life comes from seeing someone else happy whom you truly love, even if it means sacrificing your own happiness.

…ze. Love will happen again. And if you wait patiently enough, it will happen with the right person. But for that relationship, one has to come out of the one where there is no hope. And spotting the obsession in your love is the first step. Because once you do that, you’ll be able to move on in life.

The hollowness feels
like a rotten shaft,
it makes me remember
the togetherness in our past.

The tears came rolling down
making my eyes moist,
the dream that I had once
has now gone bust.

The daily mundane chores
will make me forget,
the so call important things
will occupy me till sunset.

I have learned now
how to live without you,
only this melancholy pain
comes every week or two.

But this pain is nothing
compared to that you gave me,
when in-spite of being together
you acted as a stranger to me.

This then reminds me
that maybe it’s true,
it’s better to die occasionally
then to die every moment with you.

What makes the unrequited love even more tricky is that there is no clear demarcation between ‘love’ that we imagine it to be and the ‘obsession’ it actually becomes.

But the difference between obsession and true love is that in the latter you are able to let go. In true love, in spite of whatever you are feeling, however painful your sufferings are, you are able to find solace in the happiness of the other person. And this happiness, one of the ultimate act of sacrifice, offset the grief of not being with that person. You bask in this warmth, this satisfaction of seeing them happy and content. And in it lies the source of your happiness.
