Tips on finding motivation and staying motivated

Staying motivated and focused is not the easiest thing to do. Especially with all the TV and events being hosted. There’re are several ways to stay sharp and in the zone. Here are a few:

Learn Something Real Each Day:

Life is full of lessons, but none of them compare to opening a book and learning from someone else’s mistakes, failures, and successes. Read books if you want to find some wisdom treasures (nuggets) or, you know increase your learning curve. Books themselves are really retro things that have been around for a few hundred to years. They’ve recently been revamped as eBooks to fit our high tech lives. I personally have a Prime Books account which links to my Audible so that I can switch to audio when I’m out entrepreneuring and have to learn and drive. There is even a whole genre of literature called ā€œPersonal Developmentā€ devoted to making sure people can find tools to improve their lives. Books in this genre range from motivation and positive thinking to how to sell anything to anyone by adjusting the way the conversation is held (I.e. wizard training).

Learning doesn’t have to stop there. Learn new ways to do things online. New products, apps, and tools are created every day. Check out the app store on your device and check out some of said innovation. My favorite apps and sites help simplify my life by providing productivity tools and simpler ways to adult.

Painting the big picture:

It’s really easy to pursue dreams and goals that are clearly defined. Painting yourself a HD image of your life can greatly help you understand what it takes to reach your goals.

For example, if you know you want to be a pilot, don’t just think about flight school. Becoming something is much more that training. Think about your future pilot lifestyle šŸ˜. What will you say to your co-pilot each time you get inside of the cockpit? How will you spend your downtime in new cities? What will you want to experience in the few hours you have in a overnight destination? What type of home will you live in? What kind of decor stores to pilots buy their living room furniture from? Car? Family vacation? Friends? This super novel character. like illustration of the person that you will be after. flight school is a better motivation to complete classes and pass the test. Think this way about each goal. How is it going to feel and affect you?

Appreciation and Charity:

Have you ever been going through the day and experienced/ witnessed something a bit unsettling and thought to yourself ā€œI’m thankful for my _fill in the blank_.

For example, each time I pass by a bus stop, I say to myself how much I appreciate my vehicle. The other side of appreciation goes a bit like charity. I also have a habit of driving coworkers and friends that do not have cars to their destinations whenever I can; expecting nothing in return. Sure, it’s not really charity. It’s being a decent human being but it feels good to help. I’m sure they feel some sort of positive emotion too.

This goes for more than rides. Appreciate your home, your possessions, each meal that you eat, source(s) of income, friends, and family. Also try to give back to a stranger or some one you know. Be a friend. Invite those who have an interesting family dynamic over for the holidays. Buy someone a meal when they’re short on cash (the smallest things matter to someone when they’re short on cash). Donate/give away your possessions when you realize you don’t use them or when you upgrade. Selling your stuff isn’t always so rewarding. Give it to someone you know that needs it and would use it for good.

**Donating is not the same as giving. Go see how much they sell old furniture for at Goodwill. Hundreds of dollars. This is getting rid of something and consenting that it’s resold. When you give, the recipient receives at no cost.
