I’m a little confused as to the inclusion “What Women Want”. I understand that it was at one point the highest-grossing picture by a female director, which is indeed a laud-worthy achievement, but I fail to see how financial success alone warrants a need for preservation, especially for a film that has left very little impact after the fact. I feel there are plenty other films to consider, like the aforementioned “Wanda” and/or, say, the documentaries of Penelope Spheeris.
