Cutting the overweight

For now on, I am cutting jQuery completely out of my development flow, which is — considering the popularity of the library — is quiet a task.

Just yesterday I had to face the problem of dependency management trough bower as for 8 out of 10 libraries, jQuery is a basic dependency.

Having said that, from now on, I am using vanilla JavaScript where possible, and only with minimal inclusion of 3rd party libraries, only when it is justified and saves me “real” time.

Reason? With the new version of JavaScript and API’s out, there isn’t a real need anymore for that overweight in a site.
