Great piece, I think 2 of the biggest issues of modern discourse is

  1. the labeling you mentioned forces people into a bucket of thought even though they probably lie on a spectrum
  2. Having multiple opinions or contradicting thoughts is viewed as flip flopping by many. People stigmatize changing your stance. Some specific scenarios allow you to do that in a controlled setting (e.g. debate) but it’s rare

I wonder how you change this though, is this something you can teach people in school?
