- Voivod — Killing Technology (best song: Tornado)
Why I like it: Fuses elements of thrash (such as those prevalent on War and Pain or Rrroooaaarrr) with progressive elements which would only grow on later albums like Dimension Hatross, Nothingface, or Outer Limits. - Devin Townsend — Ocean Machine Biomech (best song Bastard)
Why I like it: The progressive elements here are soothing and mimic the sound of rolling waves in a way. And has excellent riffs and solos without coming off as extreme technical wankery. - Voivod — Dimension Hatross (best song Tribal Convictions)
Why I like it: Almost all the thrash elements on KT are gone, and the progressive feel is extremely overpowering. Also, there is nothing that will even come close to mimicking DH, and there is no album like it. Not even Nothingface.
