I still fear go as a game

Of course, I’m an amateur, but learning go has been a somewhat daunting experience, even if there are some moments of joy. See, I enjoy chess and especially enjoy chess960, but since I learned that game when I was younger, there’s a certain subconscious reserve I can draw from and hence “coast” a little.

Oh, I’m sure that to have a similar feel or sense for go, I simply have to play it more. But sometimes, it just feels overwhelming. Small mind, I know. Still, it also speaks to how damn good this game is, how complex. For when I play boardgames there’s no where near the same apprehension. And to think I wanted to play 3D go.
