I love its simplicity, although I wonder about the layout becoming samey. At a glance, irrespective of content or who’s written it, you know it’s a Medium piece, and right now that signals quality. Not instantly knowing whether the writer is a name or a nobody, until you scroll all the way down, is very democratic too. But will a sameness of look hurt, or be irrelevant? Arguably big banner print newspapers always look familiar and that hasn’t specifically led to their demise. Otoh, the once-ultimately stripped-down tool, Twitter, seems to add features now in order to keep user interest in its core product, rather than some other client’s shiny latest add-on. I gues the market will decide, but right now your product is beautiful and engaging both as service and network. Good hunting.
