I’ve been ignoring. Much like I have Snapchat. I use Instagram mainly as you do, snapping things/compositions that I like. I’ll probably let inertia win and just continue to ignore this feature. But that’s fine. There’s a level that suits all of us. More and more I’m using social to document mental doodles, pictures or words. I’m conversing wayyy less. It’s less of the social and more of the diary, almost. That feels weird yet natural to admit. But there’s always context. 40 shorter-than-you’d-believe years ago I was fantasising about what it would be like to actually live in a house with a phone. Imagine! You could talk to your cousins whenever you liked! Now you can do that and much more, and so what? Ultimately I suppose I’m saying that meaningful interaction will continue to be what it’s always been: rare, truly human and always welcome. For some, that will include #Snapstagram. Content, however, is still queen.
