Still in the mood for TV series music. The Sopranos needs zero introduction. Kids these days who praise Breaking Bad or GoT know jack about true television.

Let’s talk music for now. What kinds of music would describe a reckless mafioso boss who frequents a shrink? So many. Blues, techno, prog rock, funk, 90s pop, you know it. From The Police, Moby, Pink Floyd, Mazzy Star all the way to Andrea Bocelli or Frankie Valli & The Four Seasons. David Chase didn’t just create the greatest television ever, he also made an extensive, mindblowing playlist.

Here are some of the most striking Sopranos musical moment:

  1. The Police vs Henry Mancini — Every Breath You Take/’Peter Gunn’ Theme

Hide and seek game between Tony & the cops. Of course the boss gives zero casual fuck. Unbelievably cool mashup of The Police’s classic and Peter Gunn theme.

2. The Chi-Lites — Oh Girl

Of all the girls in Jersey and you had to fuck this one? Go head, cry like a bitch…

The boss crying and singing a corny song in broken voice. Just to show how much The Sopranos veers toward human psychology beside mafioso recklessness.

3. Andrea Bocelli — Con Te Partiro

Tony almost fucks the Italian partner on business trip but chooses not to and return home to Carmela.

Original, Sarah Brightman-less, Italian version.

4. Pink Floyd — Comfortably Numb

Can you show me where it hurts?

I can never thank Tony enough for introducing me to Pink Floyd. One of the best episode, also one of the most shocking scenes [heavy spoiler] of the whole series.

No music could better describe the tragic tale of Christopher Moltisanti. The soundtrack to his life. The soundtrack to many recent years of my life.

There could be 325 entries in today topic, one could be more significant than above four depending on my memories. So again, I save you some reading by compiling some of my favorites into this playlist.

And by the way Wake Up This Morning is the most iconic opening in the history of television.
