Samsung hopes its Galaxy Note 8 is less explosive.

  • The new Galaxy Note is here, and it is 🔥 (pun intended).
  • It’s got a giant “infinity” screen, no physical home button, and a boatload of new bells and whistles.

Walmart joins with Google to fight Amazon.

  • Walmart announced today that it was teaming up with Google on voice shopping. The plan is to allow Walmart customers to order company products using Google Assistant.
  • The partnership is a challenge to Amazon’s Alexa and is part of Walmart’s larger strategy in its online retail fight against Amazon.
  • It signals the two companies believe voice shopping will be a major factor in the future of online retail.

The market cooled down after yesterday’s rally.

  • The Dow dropped 88 points after surging nearly 200 points yesterday.
  • President Trump’s threats last night of a government shutdown and pulling the United States out of NAFTA unsettled investors.
