Hajime Hinata : Everything You Need To Know

Hajime Hinata is one of the students in Hope’s Peak Academy’s class 77-B and also a participant in the Killing School Trip featured in Danganronpa 2: Goodbye Despair. He isn’t able to remember his talents in the beginning of The Killing Game, so his name is the Ultimate ???.

He, along with Class 77-B return with Class 77-B in Danganronpa 3: The End of Hope’s Peak High School to discover their lives as students that lead up the events of The Tragedy.

Appearance Hajime Hinata

Hajime is a short, spiky brown hair, with an ahoge that changes depending on his mood. He is wearing a basic white shirt, with the emblem of his high school printed on the hem. He also comes with a green tie that has the same symbol. He also has dark-colored pants and white-and-red sneakers. In the time he was at Hope’s Peak Academy, he had a black reserve student uniform. These are identical to the clothes he wears as Izuru Kamukura.

Hajime’s eyes feature straight lines that run across his pupils, which resemble an emblem of prohibition. While his eyes color was initially (presumedly) Green, his eyes became red after he was surrounded by images resembling radars for target when Hajime was Izuru. As the two personalities merge the left eye stays red, while the right one returns to the natural color of his eyes and the appearance of both eyes being adapted to the Izuru’s radar target design.

Within the simulation, towards the end of the second simulation, Hajime also gained an “Awakened” appearance that saw his hair turn white and his eyes turning exactly like the eyes of Izuru. Additionally that he was completely encased by a glowing aura. When he was in Super Danganronpa 2.5 the moment he’s believed to be once more inside the simulation the eyes of his character have turned red, however it’s not like his usual self, and is wearing the dark Hope’s Peak Academy uniform.

According to the art book and also the official art book, as well as Chiaki Nanami as well as Nekomaru Nidai’s Free Time Events, it’s suggested that Hajime has muscle since he’s been doing some workouts. He’s however, described as a person who looks less slender when dressed.

While he was never featured in the games in the official art book, it confirms that he is wearing deep blue trunks and a the white cherry blossom design that are described as trendy. Evidently, he doesn’t reveal them to even his closest acquaintances as his clothing is typically “a mystery” in a humorous reference to the free-time and bonus modes.

Personality Hajime Hinata

Hajime is a bit cynical on first impression, but it would be more precise to describe him as an ardent realist. He is extremely cautious and is likely to be worried more than other students, but his concerns are generally reasonable. He is rational and sharp and often irritated with the thought in not having the ability comprehend someone or something in any way. He’s usually very serious, however he can make fun of himself and sometimes is a part of his classmates who have eccentric hobbies at times, and is seen smiling awkwardly and with a smile when his peers take part in their normal bizarre behaviors. He can be unhappy with some of his peers and may be humorous with them in his thoughts , as also blunt when talking to them.

However, his tone is more direct than mean-spirited or sarcastic. Although he can be a little shy (especially with girls who are bossy) however, he’s not unwilling to express his opinions and can even be rude when he is annoyed enough (for instance, after suffering through Hiyoko’s resentment in the Free Time Events, he then says “I do not bother any more”). Sometimes, he’s irritable and lash out at people in particular when he’s stressed or under stress. He also was extremely anxious at the beginning of the contest and was not interested in making friends, however later, he believed in his fellow classmates and was embarrassed to doubt them in his Class Trials, though he knew the necessity. He often regretted the fact that he exposed the murderers as shown in Chapter 3. He snubbed the person responsible in Chapter 3.

Hajime’s more violent personality is clearly demonstrated in a scene from Danganronpa 3, in which Hajime tries to forcefully punch Juzo Sakakura following a conversation in a rude and dehumanizing way, and then slaps Chisa Yukizome’s hands in anger after she tried to assist him. This differs from how the other characters could have carried themselves. The Japanese version his more blunt nature is evident by his manner of speaking during Nonstop Debates.

Due to his more aggressive character and his irritable personality, both Monokuma as well as Nagito at times joked about comparing Hajime as a Tsundere Nagito even calling the latter “tsuntsun hair” and Monokuma straight up calling Hajime a Tsundere.

Despite his faults, Hajime is generally pleasant and effortlessly shows compassion and kindness to those around him. He truly takes care of everybody. While he might have difficulty communicating with or understanding his peers, he is accepting of all people’s quirky characteristics and quirks, and is always ready to listen and offer suggestions. The official artbook explains this assertion by saying that he’s talking to everyone and getting good with both ladies and the guys. At Free Time Events, he helps even the most unsocial characters feel more at ease and will often divulge aspects of themselves they would never reveal to anyone other way. Because of this characteristic, Fuyuhiko Kuzuryu thinks that Hajime’s gift could be that of the Ultimate Counselor. Nagito also calls his character Ultimate Serenity.

There is also a strong suggestion that Hajime is a romantically unexperienced person as he appears shy and even ignorant of the subject. He once admitted that he had not really thought about it and had never had a girl ask him to go out on dates. But in Free Time Events and especially during Island Mode, several characters seem to be interested in romance on Hajime and he can respond by flirting, dating or even developing real (non-canon) relationship with the characters. Hajime is often revealed to be too naive when other characters show an interest in him, as him admitting that he’s “kind of a nerd” in Hiyoko Saionji’s Shot Through The Heart event. He incorrectly concludes that Peko Pekoyama is romantically inclined towards him during his Free Time Events, while in fact, she is one of the few characters confirmed not to have feelings for him.

While he attempts to conceal the fact, Hajime is very insecure about his talent and this is a major source of concern for him. It led him to admire the Hope’s Peak Academy more than anything since he believed attending the school would solve the issue. He wanted to be part of something greater than him, to become more confident and to be someone he is proud of. He was unhappy that he was only a reserve student. Chiaki is the person who helped Hajime to accept the fact that the fact that he was gifted or had talent was irrelevant. It was mostly because of her guidance and encouragement that he finally in a position to overcome his despair and gain confidence.

When Hajime awakes after his exit from his sleep in the Neo World Program, he retains his memories and is identified as Hajime Hinata, recognizing that the future holds a myriad of possibilities that may be a failure. In Hope Arc, it is discovered it is revealed that Hajime and the Izuru personalities overlap. Although he is identified as Hajime and behaves a lot like him, and possessing the ability to feel He is bored occasionally and his behavior is more like Izuru rather than Hajime. He’s also capable making use of Izuru’s skills and abilities, making him the most powerful person on earth in the event that he is able to believe so. But, Kazutaka Kodaka has stated that he is still human and emotions, which can cause him to be surprisingly fragile. “If you’re having Kazuichi making fun of your character, you’re probably not the way great”, Kazutaka said laughing at Kazuichi’s “This guy is not from The Reserve Course” comment in Hope Arc.

Talents & Abilities Hajime Hinata

Ultimate Hope

After combining with Izuru’s identity and becoming a Hajime’s character He was able to make use of all the Ultimate abilities that were studied in Hope’s Peak School. He’s only been known to use a handful of. In his role as the Ultimate hope, Hajime possesses many talents like the Ultimate Analyst, the Ultimate Analyst and the Ultimate Soldier as well as the Ultimate Soldier.

As opposed to the other individuals with the ultimate analyst talent, Hajime is much more adept at expressing emotions and is not constantly bored. But, he is occasionally bored, likely due to his superior analytical skills.

Hajime is a physical warrior with increased strength as well as reflexes and speed to the point of becoming superhuman. He can take on numerous skilled and armoured individuals in just a few minutes. He can also be seen bend metal and tearing an enormous hole through the wall of a solid structure.

Like Izuru, Hajime seems to be more cold-blooded in times of need because he was badly injured and possibly killed those who threatened his acquaintances.

Hajime employed an extraordinary ability that brought back students that were dead in his time in the Neo World Program. It could be a talent that is associated with Neurologist, Therapist or programming, since these skills were possessed by the founders of the Neo World Program. Given that He was gifted with all the talents that were that was known to the Hope’s Peak Academy, it could be an amalgamation of all three.

Counseling skills

Although he didn’t naturally have the Ultimate ability however, other characters have noted that Hajime could be a candidate with a wide range of talents. his most notable is his ability to make people feel more comfortable and be able to talk about their concerns. Due to this, Fuyuhiko believes he’s the ultimate counselor, and Nagito has him called the ultimate serenity. But, even though he’s eager to assist, Hajime feels that such the ability could be stress-inducing. Hajime shows this talent when he manages to calm Ryota Mitarai in the final scene in Danganronpa 3.

Relationships Hajime Hinata

Alternate Persona:

Izuru Kamukura

When he decided to take part in the Izuru Kamukura project Hajime did not realize that the process would change him into a different person. Through the process Hajime’s memory and personality were erased to transform him a person who’s specialty is talent itself. After the project was concluded the Hajime’s character was replaced by Izuru’s.

Like Izuru, Hajime had no memories or any knowledge of his previous self. In the Neo World Program, the Future Foundation was able to restore his memories, and successfully transform him back into his previous self. When the program was shut down , and he was able to wake from his coma Hajime was one with Izuru with their two distinct personalities becoming one and living together.

Class 77-B:

Chiaki Nanami

Real-Life Version

Chiaki was Hajime’s best friend. One of the primary reasons why he was a participant as a participant in his participation in the Izuru Kamukura Project was to be worthy of Chiaki’s friendship.

Their first encounter was at the fountain in the vicinity of the school, in a moment Kodaka stated that she was thrilled by how stunning it turned out to beafter Chiaki ran into Hajime when playing an activity. After that, they have continued to see one another and play games in the evenings after school at the same spot. It’s possible that the two felt romantically in love with one another, since they would often blush when to each other.

Chiaki once consoled Hajime when he was unhappy over not being able to do something. She assured him that there’s more in life than talent, and creating memories with people was more significant. Her words reassured him, but his desire to possess talents didn’t go away.

Prior to beginning the Izuru Kamukura Project, Hajime finds Chiaki by the fountain and Chiaki invites Chiaki to play with Chiaki. Hajime declines and states that there’s a reason he must be somewhere else. When he leaves, Hajime tells Chiaki that she’s not just an Ultimate Gamer, and tells Chiaki that she’ll make many memories during the time at Hope’s Peak. When he leaves Chiaki, Hajime thinks to himself what one of the reasons why he chose to take part in the project was due to his desire to prove to Chiaki that he is a talented person. He thought about her when his transformation into Izuru Kamukura. He then decides to transform into a different self-aware version which he can be proud of in Chiaki.

When he transformed, Hajime forgot all his memories of Chiaki. In the end, Izuru was unable to remember Chiaki and he was unable to confront Chiaki after she was executed. Following the time Chiaki passes away, Izuru is seen shedding tears. He observes and is shocked, which is a rare feeling for him. Although he didn’t know the identity of the woman the woman, he shed tears informing him that a small part of Hajime is still in Izuru.

After waking up after an experience called the Neo World Program, Hajime is trying to convince Ryota Mitarai that both hope and despair are equally important He reminisces about Chiaki and expresses great sorrow over her demise. When he recalls his memories of Chiaki, Hajime claims that he would never forget her and he would never ever want to. He also considered her a precious to him. Hajime seems to have her hairpin in his as a keepsake similar to what he used to do in the role of Izuru.

In the Ultimate Talent Development Plan, Chiaki has a very similar relationship with Hajime as she did during Danganronpa 3, with her playing various video game with Hajime, and even giving Hajime the same advice regarding having talent being not the primary aim. Hajime thought she was a trustworthy class rep, but Chiaki believes that Hajime is extremely trustworthy and very close to the class in question (seemingly prefiguring the idea that Hajime is later on to assume the leadership role in students). In the third year of their relationship Hajime was invited by her to an invitation to the class’s Christmas party and He accepted. As their graduation draws nearer, Hajime asks her if she’s available for New Year’s and informs her that his classmates are planning a celebration because it’s also Hajime’s birthday. Chiaki seems a bit apprehensive to be invited too but she quickly accepts and suggests that she extend the invitation to all of her classmates.

AI Version

Hajime is revealed as being close to Chiaki’s AI model of Chiaki throughout the story. Hajime along with Chiaki are often shown with each other in scenes and scenes. Their relationship develops to the point where they are able to understand the expressions and wishes of each other even without speaking. It took him a while to become comfortable with her. As in chapter 2, he was thinking of her behaviour being “annoying.”

Chiaki was able to stop Hajime from visiting Chiaki stopped Hajime from going to the Final Dead Room when he was depressed because everyone thought he might be a traitor. she also helped him through the trials and investigations. It was revealed in the brief introduction to the all-girls beach party Chapter 2 that Hajime was attracted by Chiaki in her swimming suit. It is evident especially in Chapter 4 where Chiaki and Chiaki are very close throughout the entire chapter.

In the fifth trial, Hajime was the most grieved among the the remaining pupils when they discovered Chiaki was the “traitor”. Chiaki is Chiaki was the “traitor” that was sentenced to death. It was Chiaki who begged Hajime to be able to declare and prove that she was the supposed traitor, believing in his ability to see beyond the lies and deceit that Monokuma fabricated and the potential she sees in the man.

In Chapter 6 Chiaki had the honor of being the first person to helped Hajime to realize that the fact that he was gifted or had talent was not the issue. It was because of Chiaki’s encouragement and support that he was able to overcome his despair. When she was ejected as well as the program He thanked her for her assistance and promised to never forget her.

Through the course of her Free Time Events, it seems to be suggested that Hajime Chiaki’s friendship is more than just a regular friendship. Hajime and Chiaki enjoy to a lasting, loving relationship. The conversations they have had evolved from simple conversations to more fun and friendly, but as conciliatory and serious (usually between Chiaki towards Hajime). Also, there are romantic associations for example, both blushing when she falls and he notices her and complimenting her on being built well.

When Chiaki suddenly appears in Hajime and Hajime, it is demonstrated that when he rebuts every single person’s assertions in the Endless Debate, everyone saw an image of the most close one to themselves, evidence that Chiaki is the person closest to Hajime. Hajime insists on being a person even after learning of her AI nature. When Hajime is finally able to say her “Thank you” and to be responded to with a similar response, it’s assumed that the words they use carry more profound significance.

After the war of despair and hope is over, when Hajime as well as the rest of the class embark on an aircraft, Hajime seemingly sees an illusion that she is talking to him, and smiling as she tells him to take a step towards the future. But it’s clear that Hajime isn’t in the know of what she is doing because he doesn’t even speak to her nor gaze at her, but appears to be speaking to himself, expressing the optimism she taught him and passing her while she watches Hajime with smiling.

Nagito Komaeda

Nagito was one of the students Hajime was able to meet while on island. He was the only student to remain with the unconscious Hajime and then escorted him to introduce himself to other students. He also assisted Hajime through the majority of his investigation. Although he was sometimes annoyed at times by Nagito, Hajime felt more comfortable around Nagito and believed that he was an honest person, even though he it’s not always the most reliable.

After discovering Nagito’s bizarre method to think, Hajime felt betrayed and was slammed. He was convinced that Nagito was very dangerousand only looking to make others suffer, and was able to trick him yet again if they talked excessively. He was of the opinion that he did not know his thoughts in any way. In his spare time activities, Hajime kept attempting to comprehend the mindset of Nagito and continued to speak to Nagito. There are several instances in the main game when Hajime is close to understanding what Nagito is thinking, only to abandon the idea as he thinks that he’s thinking too much. In the final analysis, it was his knowledge of Nagito which eventually thwarted his strategy during Chapter 5.

In the words of Nagito, Hajime was the first person in his life to show an interest in his life. This is further demonstrated by his own questioning of what makes him worry about someone similar to Nagito during the depression in Chapter 3. One of the main reasons Nagito has to be interested in Hajime is that he says they’re alike, even though Hajime does not believe this. It’s also stated in the Super Danganronpa 2 Art Book and in Hajime’s love chart. Nagito declares that the two of them Hajime are like each other and share similarities.

After finding out that Hajime is an instructor in reserve and that Nagito is a reserve course student, he became hostile toward his fellow student, allegedly projecting certain traits that he dislikes about himself onto Hajime. While he was brutal and cruel towards him in the dialog that immediately precedes chapter 4 Chapter 4 trial, he asserts that he is still interested in Hajime however he is unable to comprehend the reason.
