Tokyo Ghoul has many terrifying and gory characters. Their ghoulish appearances could make even their most fearful audience cringe, from Ken Kaneki to Arima to Touka
The franchise is part of the horror, supernatural and psychological genres targeting the Seinen population. It’s not surprising that this show features many powerful fighters one would only find in anime!
Tokyo Ghoul, an urban fantasy anime, is a manga that many people prefer to read than the anime. It was not like the anime!
Many people, including myself, are optimistic about a true adaptation of Tokyo Ghoul’s Season 1 trailer, even though it has been five years since that original uncut trailer was released.
We need Tokyo Ghoul rebooted into an anime that honors and justifies Sui Itshida’s masterpiece, with so many other reboots in the coming decade.
Studio Pierrot is able to produce popular titles such as Naruto, Bleach and Yuu Yuu Hakusho. It might be a while before we see another TV adaptation of Tokyo Ghoul.
Because the amazing storyline of the manga is still fresh in my mind, I will extract a small portion of it and present the 25 most powerful characters in Tokyo Ghoul.
Top 20+ Strongest Tokyo Ghoul Characters
We have made 2 rankings for your pleasure. Here is the ranking of the anime

The strongest Tokyo Ghoul Characters
25. Mado Akira
Akira seems to have the same grit as her father Kureo when it comes to killing Ghouls. This feat is remarkable considering she is only 20 years old. This does not mean she is the most powerful investigator, but she can still defend herself and her comrades when necessary. I still believe that Akira is not considered “great” by all the monsters on this list. There is still a lot of work to be done.
24. Fueguchi Hinami
She was already an SS class Ghoul at a young age. This is a testament to how powerful Hinami can be as a Ghoul. You will recall that she was the one who killed Mado Kureo in the first season. It was his fault for underestimating his opponent. However, it was still an impressive achievement considering that he was already a first-class Ghoul Investigator. It is hard to imagine how powerful she would become if Tokyo Ghoul had another season that told the story of the older versions of these characters.
23. Donato Porpora
He was a creepy man who caused many children to suffer before he was caught and sent into Cochlea. There isn’t much information about Donato’s strength, other than the fact that he is an SS-rank Ghoul. He was able to fight Amon and it was quite difficult for him. Also, He still lost the final battle. He is still not able to get higher, despite his status. CCG views him as a dangerous Ghoul, and they may be right.

22. Mutsuki Tooru
You will see that the patterns in Tokyo Ghoul show how a character becomes stronger when their hair turns white. This is what happened to the male-looking female. However, joke aside, anyone who has seen the series will know that Tooru struggles to control her power. As the series progresses she becomes a deadly character, threatening not only Ghouls but also her CCG comrades. To the point that she nearly kills her closest friends.
21. Yakumo Oomori
You may be familiar with his name as either “Jason” (or “Yamori”) if you don’t know it. Jason is strong just by his appearance. We haven’t seen Jason in a fight, like Rize. Yes, he did fight Ken at the end of the first series, but it was not a fight. Jason got thrown out right away. Jason wouldn’t be on the list if it was used to measure his strength.
20. Kamishiro Rize
Although it might seem insulting to her to put Rize here, I am not denying that it is. We haven’t seen her in a fight. That’s it. This is the entire reason. Rize’s Kagune, I can only tell you, is so often used that it would likely be the testimony of her true abilities when she is still alive. Apart from that, it is impossible to say if she is as powerful in battle. Rize seems strong but not as powerful as the other characters in the series.

19. Kirishima Ayato
It is no secret that Ayato is more powerful than her sister and possibly more skilled than her sister. He is a dangerous Ghoul and his skills are very lethal. As the series progresses, more Ghouls are introduced, and all of them have crazy powers and are extremely dangerous. This makes Ayato appear weaker than he really is.
18. Washuu Kichimura
Furuta, if he is not known to you. He is truly in a strange position in terms strength. At least it was for me. He was an option. I could choose to leave him off the list or add other characters. He is my final opponent, and he seems to be the one pulling the strings. Also, I can’t ignore the fact Furuta gave Ken a difficult time even though Ken was exhausted at the moment. There you go. I don’t know what to do.
17. Urie Kuki
At first, I didn’t want Kuki and the other Quinx members to be included. Then I remembered how Kuki, Tooru and their amazing personality and strength developments. This is some background information about Kuki. He has a lot to offer as a Ghoul Detective. He had some issues with his personality and mentality at the beginning. Kuki has made progress and is now one of the most reliable members of CCG.
16. Amon Koutarou
Koutarou started his life as one of the most bright members of CCG. But then, he lost to Ken. He was then kidnapped to become Dr. Kanou’s lab rat. He is now the Ghoul he loathes most. If we look at it from another angle, this may be a blessing for him. Koutarou now has an incredible power combination from his years of training as both a Ghoul or a human. Koutarou is not the strongest, but I am confident that he can fight off the stronger characters on the list.
15. Noro
I was quite disturbed by this freakish Ghoul’s appearance, and his inability to speak. That Kagune, and Kakuja are just a few of the strange things about him. Kakuja is a form that many characters have had in the past. Noro is the exception, as he used it in a major fight, so we can see just how powerful this Aogiri member really is. Although he lost, he entertained us with a great showdown.
14. Tatara
You see what I meant when i said that white-haired characters were some of the most powerful characters in the series. Tatara’s strength, despite being a joke, is not to be taken lightly. The Chinese Ghoul Tatara actually has a Kakuja shape. Like Noro, Tatara has one. Tatara was also the first to use it. This allowed me to measure how powerful this Ghoul is. All of the characters can now be considered extremely powerful, with some only having a small gap between their power and others.
13. Uta
Uta, a dangerous Ghoul known for his madistic behavior and insane power, was younger. He is considered to be a SS rank Ghoul according to the CCG. Although he seems to have stopped doing this stuff, Uta still retains muscle memory from when he used rampage. In the finale of season 2, we saw some of his strength against Renji. Although he lost, Renji was made to struggle by him, which is a testimony to how strong Uta really is.
12. Yomo Renji
Renji, like Uta was a strong Ghoul who loved to kill people. Yoshimura was the difference. Yomo is not a Ghoul. Yes, I did look. It is clear that Renji is a strong character, despite this. As I mentioned in the previous list, he has been able to stop Uta despite Uta fighting more than Renji as an adult. We can therefore assume that Uta would also be ranked if Renji was.
11. Shinohara Yukinori
He is a CCG leader and Special Class Investigator. This alone should be enough to explain why Yukinori is considered the strongest Investigator and possibly the most powerful character in this series. As if that wasn’t enough, I want to remind everyone that Yukinori was also the one who led Owl’s fight alongside Investigator Iwao. Unfortunately, he was left unconscious and went into a coma for the rest of the series. However, this does not mean Yukinori is unable to perform as a CCG member.
10. Kuroiwa Iwao
Iwao’s case is very similar to that of Investigator Yukinori. However, he didn’t go into a coma after the Owl battle. Iwao is also Special Investigator and can use the same Quinque as Yukinori. With all these similarities, I’m not sure what to say about this man. I can only say that he is strong.
9. Kamishiro Matasaka
If you don’t know his name, Shachi. Even though he became weaker in the:re, Shachi was still considered one of the most dangerous Ghouls and was even considered to be one the deadliest. Apart from his Kagune as a Ghoul and his healing factor, his main selling point is his knowledge of martial arts. This is what sets him apart from other Ghouls. He managed to achieve a differential that allowed him to defeat Ken one-on-one.
8. Takizawa Seidou
Seidou will be removed from this list if it is not because Seidou is being turned into a Ghoul. He was a weak crybaby with very little potential. He became a Ghoul and is now considered one of the most dangerous Ghouls, having been promoted to SS rank. It is unclear if this is a good or bad thing. He is unstoppable because of his new power. This shows that you only need to make a small change in your life for it to be unstoppable.
7. Kirishima Arata
Many people forget about Kirishima Arata the legend, who only appeared in a few episodes, and did not have a memorable battle scene. Why do I choose him over other characters with similar cases? The lore is the reason. The full explanation can be found here. To summarize, he is regarded as one of the most extreme Ghouls out there. Like Rize’s Kagune, his Kagune too is harvested, but this time it is for CCG. It is arguably the strongest Quinque they’ve ever made.
6. Hoito Roma
Remember Roma, a slow-learning service woman who made many mistakes and was frequently called useless in the second season? We are witnessing one of the most evil Ghouls in anime history, even though it has been years since the anime ended. After all, she is now ranked SSS. You can verify my claims by yourself, if you don’t believe me. Kuki saved her life by killing her.
5. Kaneki Ken
Ken isn’t the most powerful character in the series. Although he is strong enough to be among the strongest, he is not the most powerful. It is an incredible feat to be able beat even seemingly weak characters. He is the main character, so he must be strong. But Ken’s strength fluctuates wildly depending on his sanity. He can easily defeat someone who appears weaker than he. Ken, on the other hand can fight a hard battle against someone who appears stronger than he.
4. Suzuya Juuzou — Most Powerful Human Among Tokyo Ghoul Characters
Juuzou is a reason why Ken should be ranked above Juuzou. He beat Ken and nearly killed him. Ken didn’t die, but he was struck in the head with a fatal blow which led to the infamous Dragon arch. It’s that simple. There is no other reason. There are many reasons this trap is so superior to others and leaves them behind. It turned out that Juuzou is not a Ghoul. This kind of movement is very inhumane, so I think it’s best to see it this way.
3. Yoshimura Eto — Most Powerful Girl Among Tokyo Ghoul Characters
If you’re not good at guessing twists in anime, or any other series, I doubt you would have believed that Eto was the mythical One Eye Owl. It was difficult to believe that Eto is capable of such a crazy feat just from her appearance. She is also a “mere” writer. At least we’ll for me. Her strength, just like her father is well-known among Ghouls. That’s all there is to say about Eto.
2. Yoshimura Kuzen
Like father, like daughter. Although it is not the truth, I have to adjust this list. Who would have known that this Ghoul was actually the SSS class Ghoul? It fits the stereotype that “old people in anime are super strong.” It was hard for the CCG against Kuzen, I remember. He was not defeated by even three Special Investigators. That sentence does not do justice to the legendary Ghoul’s power.
1. Arima Kishou — Most Powerful Among Tokyo Ghoul Characters
Let’s face it. Kishou is the top choice for this list if you are objective. There is no one else that can replace him. Although Ken and Juuzou may have some potential, they are not nearly as good as the Grim Reaper of CCG. There is evidence. It is almost certain that Kishou will always win the battle, regardless of who the opponent is. He was there to make Ken look strong, even though he lost the battle and later died.
