I love this idea because it’s new, and relies on the internet. It’s not the same old product, repackaged — like conventional books, digitally transcribed for online reading. It’s a new product. I’m curious to see where this goes.
But I wonder if Medium is the best place for this. Using comments and highlights to develop a story sounds pretty clunky as a UI. I’d love to see Unbound become its own app or website.
How will you deal with poor writers? Let’s say a real wordsmith starts a story, but dunderheads build on it. That might discourage the original writer from sticking with that story, or even Unbound itself, and it could frustrate readers who were hooked by the first installment. Do you plan to get your hands dirty, editing sub-par copy?
