Stranger Things

I finally took a couple nights last week to watch Stranger Things. It is the most riveting piece of entertainment in my recent memory.1 Bingeable is an understatement in this case. I’m not sure what I expected going into it, but I loved it.

When the first Rogue One teaser was released I wrote about how the childhood fans of these defining genre movies are now old enough to revisit similar material in their own work. Just as there are lifelong Star Wars fans in the film industry who now get to add to the universe they love, there are Stephen King fans, early Spielberg fans and monster movie fans who now get to pay homage and play in similar worlds. Stranger Things shoots straight for my nostalgia centers and hits it’s mark. I love the characters, the time period, and the music. It’s great and you should check it out.

  1. As I say this the most recent season of Star Wars Rebels comes to mind and I feel spoiled to have so many good entertainment choices these days.
