this would be the part where I speak about the joys of traveling or living abroad, but let’s cut the fluff.

You are here to learn quickly, so in this case I’d rather give it to you straight.Here's What they don't tell you about living as an expat.

You WILL have to face yourself.

And it might be a "dark knight of the soul" moment of sorts.

Sure, you are in the process of re-establishing yourself in a new location with a different set of cultural norms, which serves as a perfect time for starting over.

One big benefit of living outside the country is that you will have the opportunity to learn plenty about yourself.

It all sounds harmonious in theory, but no one prepares you mentally for what could happen. All may seem to glitter ain't gold, and there's a dark side that can come about from such a perceived beautiful experience.
