Violence, on every scale from the personal to the global, is on the decline, and has been for decades. This is unlikely to change much.

The reason the doomsday clock is proceeding the way it is has little to do with thermonuclear war and everything to do with climate change. The same forces that are precluding war (that is, globalism and international trade) are also resisting responses to climate change.
