Lean Mix Concrete (LMC) Pavement

This is the process of making a lean mix concrete (LMC) pavement starting from placing the formwork to concrete pouring.

Formwork —a construction term which refers to the process of making a mold for concrete or the like to become a structure that has a defined shape.

Lean Mix Concrete — a concrete structure that has no reinforcements inside (no steel bars).

  1. Assembling the molds

2. Strengthening the molds

You need to provide shoring for the forms/molds to prevent bulging the moment that you pour concrete materials in it. In this scenario, the shoring materials used are the excess soils from the site.

3. Concrete Pouring

Most of the time, the activity for the concrete pouring happens during night time. It is to prevent the concrete mixer (the equipment that carry the concrete materials from the batching plant to construction site) to experience delay because of high traffic volume during day time.
