You’re right — I don’t really know how much of this stuff they are really watching. Regardless, my greater point is that these people are not really going there to learn a new perspective. When the intent is learning — you do more active listening for greater understanding. I’m not saying greater understanding will lead one to change his or her stance, but it can help people have better dialogue. When I read stuff from the YouTube comment section, it’s usually filled with name-calling and people wishing death on each other which makes me think that these trolls aren’t there for their intellect. Again — both sides do it… so I’m not saying it’s only a far right thing. However, I just don’t want us confusing troublemakers with people who are genuinely interested in broadening their minds.
