I just gave this essay the maximum claps.

But just as what you’ve said, she has never been to Turkey and perhaps all the things she knew about Turkey were all from the news and the country’s history. Which is not totally her fault, though it can’t be an excuse either to cast prejudice for mere belonging to a group of people, a few of which actually committed the “crime.”

I, too, have had a lot of prejudice towards the people of Saudi Arabia and the Muslims in general just because all I get from the news are all about the terrorist attacks, irrational beheadings and a lot more.

I actually wrote the experience and the realization on a similar essay, if you’ll be willing to read.
