iROKOtv Goes Live In French Speaking Africa Countries
The fastest growing web platform that provides paid- for Nigerian films on demand has enlarge their coast by going live across all countries in French Speaking Africa. Jason Chukwuma Njoku is so delighted about the new progress and he hopes the new progress will of value to FSA. “Something we hope is valuable to the 250m residents of French Speaking Africa”.
However, nothing good comes easy as the sayings goes- Jason noted in his blog post that it has been a strenuous process in making iROKOtv available for a wider audience in FSA due to other things he had on mind, “I’ve long been chomping at the bit to explore FSA. It’s been on my radar as an audience and target market to bring content to, but other aspects of the business have precluded me from truly diving into this market”. It is apparent to know that new expansion was made possible by joining forces together with Canal+; a French premium cable television channel which was launched in 1984. The channel broadcasts several kinds of programming, mostly encrypted. Unencrypted programming can be viewed free of charge on Canal+ and on satellite on Canal+ Clair (Clear).
In addition, there is more to be happy for in this milestone iROKOtv just hit for the people of FSA. The almost 1,800 hours of French dubbed Nollywood, Telenovelas and African series comes free until 1st June 2016. According to a statement by the founder- Jason Njoku, “we are going to make it free until 1st June 2016. So viewers across FSA can enjoy all this content at their leisure whilst we gather data on their content preferences and viewing habits”.
Jason re-affirm the mission of company by making people know that beyond making some cool cash as many people may think, the company is really saddled with the responsibility of educating, evangelizing and embracing a new audience for paid video content in Africa. “We believe in localization, so the entire app will be fully translated into French (text/audio visual) to truly bring it to life for the FSA market. We believe in bringing viewers to content they’ll love, this is the first realization of that and we (at iROKO) are so excited about breaking the language barrier in FSA”.
Jason Chukwuma Njoku is so delighted about the new progress and he hopes the new progress will be of value to FSA. “Something we hope is valuable to the 250m residents of French Speaking Africa”.
Am so glad about this Jason, cheers to a new chapter for you and iROKOtv.
