You probably will see english errors here because i am a brazilian programmer writing my first post in english and i’ve never left of Brasil or start a english course, just self learning with help by google translate so let’s go to what matters.

If you know something about online bets you probably know about the risk involving that market and the unpredictability of events is what attracts me the most

in the Betfair website we have an interesting option to make a lot of money or lost them: Virtual Soccer.

What is Virtual Soccer and how that works?

It’s like machine vs machine game. The event is generated by one algorithm controlling the two teams.

Just that.

So, if the result is produced by a computer program has patterns. Clearly or not, algorithms are a repetitions of defined sequence of instructions so how can we find them? Deep learning can be useful on that case but first we need to play with some statistic data about the events.

Where can i found the data?

There are two championships, club football and world cup, both have an event ebery 3 minutes totaling 475 per day in each championship (with 5 min to reset the game generator probably)

In the Betfair website we can found results from the last 90 days and we will collect this data.

In another post i’ll explain the code and everything about the script to collect betfair data.

i’m collecting since jan-2020 so i has stored around 100k games each championship.

Still this week i’ll continue serie about virtual soccer, writing about code, data and the process to find patterns in bets and how earn money with them. Follow me and stay tuned at the posts.
