Am so sorry about the horrible experiences you had to go through and I know apologies and words are never adequate.
However, the point of the piece you’re referring to was to address the reality of sexual harassment from an intersectional point of view considering the weight of race and gender at once and it by no means take away from your personal experience but centering your self in that narrative is somehow problematic, we can’t deny that the misogyny black women face is related directly to the stereotypes of black hyper sexuality and the high possibility of getting away with such offenses compared to the likelihood of punishment if the victim was white or even white passing.
It is true that you can’t relate to the daily struggles of a black woman and we certainly don’t know how it is to be a less economically privileged white person that’s why each of us is supposed to shed light on their own side of the struggle and not take it as an insult if being called out on not knowing what it is like to walk in their shoes.
