The story that goes forever.

One Piece is the best selling shonen manga that has held the top position for many years, with many of its volumes reaching beyond the million sale mark. Truly, One Piece has become a king that has reigned supreme at the top for so long that it’s become quite questionable if any other series will be able to usurp One Piece’s position at the top. One thing that has made One Piece quite successful, but also quite infamous for its longetivity. One Piece is an incredibly long with the manga going on for 20 years plus and with seemingly no end in sight. Recently, Eiichiro Oda has released a statement in which One Piece is 80 percent finished. This caused a wide range of reactions, with a bulk of the reactions from the community being of confusion and surprise, as people are wondering how One Piece could be 80 percent finished with so much of the story still left to be told and many narrative threads still not tied. This begs the question on how many story arcs are left for One Piece? How much of the story does the maga have left to conclude before the manga can finally stop being serialiazed and the last chapter could be drawn and printed.

One Piece throughout its serialization has introduced a world filled with incredible characters, diverse islands and many mysteries that readers have speculating for as long as the manga has been running. While Oda continues to tease the audience with the importance of these mysteries, they have yet to be revealed and answered. Oda has also forshadowed future story arcs and locations that the Straw Hats would go sometime in the future and forshadow showdown with certain characters as time goes on. To breakdown everything and structure this breakdown, I structure how I think the story will move forward around islands, much like how One Piece structures story arcs.

Wano Country Arc

Currently, the manga is in the Wano Country Arc, but I wanted to include this arc as this arc has been forshadowed and hyped for many years since it was first hinted at. An island inspired by Feudal Japan with samurai and ninjas fighting the Straw Hats and having Zoro, the crew’s sword member, have one of his greatest fights against a powerful samurai. The arc continued to pick yp steam when it was announced that Kaido, one of the four emperors and one of the strongest pirates in the story, being stationed in Wano and ruling over it with an iron fist, people were incredibly excited as Wano Country Arc was shaping up to be one of the most exciting arcs since the Marineford Arc. With a plethora of already established characters, events having to go down and mysteries to be revealed, Wano Country is expected to be an incredibly long and dense arc.

We have a great many expectations for Wano Country. Firstly, we have the plot line with Kaido and his war. Luffy and his alliance have provoked Kaido to the point of extreme anger. Kaido wants blood as Luffy and Law have stopped his production of artificial devil fruits, destroying his dream of creating a crew filled with entirely devil fruit crew members. Straw Hats and their alliance have beef with Kaido as they have caused great pain for the Mink Tribe for almost entirely wipingout their civilization and the Kozuki Clan for killing Oden Kozuki and taking over Wano Country. Kaido also has a Road Poneglyph, one of the four Poneglyphs needed to find Raftel. Luffy, who has ambitions to be the Pirate King, absoutely needs that Road Poneglyph in order become the Pirate King. All this culminates into a compelling reason for both Luffy and Kaido to face off against each other.

The arc will also feature a massive amount of characters, more so than Marineford arc. We have to be introduced to the Beast pirates as a massive crew and see how they operate as a crew. We also have characters like Hawkins, Scotchmen, Apoo and X-Drake that have pledged loyalty under Kaido and have been introduced before, but haven’t done much storywise. We also have Eustass Kid, who has been captured by Kaido and locked away, has been a character that has been set up as a rival to Luffy. We also have potential samuari characters and residents of Wano Country, such as the Shogun Of Wano, who has allied with Kaido to rule over Wano. With a slew of new characters and already estbalished characters to be developed further, there is an excitement to be seen for this arc. We could also possibly see Izo, the 4th division commander of the Whitebeard Pirates. Based on his traditional Japanese attire, it’s very much possible that he could appear during the Wano Country arc. Izo’s appearance and the significance in the story could extend to a story arc with Marco on Whitebeard’s home village.

This arc also reveal crucial story details in regards to the mystery of the world, The Void Century. It’s been revealed in the Zou Arc that the Kozuki Family has been a family that has lived for thousands of years and created the Poneglyphs. Since the Poneglyphs are the key to fully understanding the Void Century and the Ancient Kingdom that lives on through the unbreakable stone, we could finally get a glimpse of the Void Century and the Kozuki Clan’s involvement with the Ancient Kingdom.

Elbaf Arc

This arc has been forshadowed far before Wano Country was first hinted at and was hinted at even before the Alabasta Arc. Elbaf, the land of the giants, have been the location that the Straw Hats have been wanting to visit for a long time. Ever since meeting the giants of Dorry and Brogy, Luffy and Usopp have been waiting to see Elbaf and finally reach the land of the giants.

For how or why the Straw Hats will go to this island besides the fact that they want to is unknown. However, I have a theory in regards to why the Straw Hats will go to Elbaf that will be a really compelling reason to set sail for Elbaf after Wano. My theory is that the last Road Poneglyph is located on Elbaf. The reason I say this is due to two things, an outside of story reason and in-story reason. Firstly, Oda has been writing and illustrating the manga for 20 years and running. Manga artists in japan work incredibly long and grueling hours to be able to release a chapter weekly. Due to this work schedule, it’s not uncommon for artists to get sick and be bed ridden. Oda himself have gotten sick due to his work and had to take regular breaks to recover. Considering that Oda still has a ways to go to end One Piece, Oda needs to cut the story down as much as he can to make it much more concise. Oda has been for a few arcs such as Punk Hazard and Dressrosa arcs. The Punk Hazard arc had two distinct themes, fire and ice. Oda wanted to do an ice island arc and a fire island arc, but had to combine them both in order to save time. For the Dressrosa arc, Oda wanted to do a spanish arc and an arc around dwarves, but had to smash the two together to cut the time it will take to write and draw those arcs. For the Road Poneglyph to be on Elbaf makes sense as saves time for the Straw Hats to scour the New World for the poneglyph and gives them a compelling story reason to visit the island and makes the story more concise. For the second reason and the in-story reason, The Giants of Elbaf have a connection to the Will Of D. Back in Robin’s flashback, Robin met a giant who had the middle intial D in his name. Since the Void Century and the Will of D. are interconnected and confirming that giants can also have the D. initial, this would make sense for the Giants to have a connection to this history.

This would also allow a fantastic moment for character development for Usopp. Ever since the timeskip, Ussop has been lacking in character development, especially towards the his dream of becoming a warrior of the sea. In this arc, Ussop could finally be brave, harness his Observation haki and get his admiration from Giants who he has loved and admired since the Little Garden Arc.

Shanks Arc

Considering that we are currently in the Yonko Saga, I do believe that we will get an arc revolving around Shanks. Whether it will be Elbaf or another island in which he rules over is unknown, but I firmly believe that an arc with Shanks will happen and it will happen relatively soon. The reason I believe this is due to the importance Shanks has and his connection to the Void Century. I also believe that a Shanks arc will happen due to the significance of Luffy and Shanks meeting again after 12 years of not seeing each other and Shanks witnessing Luffy’s progression as a pirate.

This arc has been hinted at ever since the first chapter of One Piece, in which Luffy promises to return Shank’s straw hat when he becomes a great pirate. We don’t get another indication of this arc until after the timeskip, during the Dressrosa arc, when Kidd, Apoo and Hawkins reveal that their target will be Red-Hair Shanks. This gave the reader a indication that conflict between Kid and Shanks will occur and may have Luffy jumping into the fray to prevent this conflict from happening as Luffy wants to be the one to defeat Shanks. While Eustass Kid is now currently in Wano Country, rotting in a prison cell, this sets up an interesting place for the Shanks arc to really happen.

A likely scenario of the events I’m about to describe could transpire that would likely kick off a potiental Shanks arc. At the end of the Wano Country arc, Luffy , Kidd and Law and the allinace would have likely fought against Kaido and saved Wano Country from the tyranny of Kaido. Kidd will set sail to incur Shank’s wrath and get his attention so he could kill him, however, Luffy will find out about this plan and attempt to stop Kid. Luffy will probably tail Kidd until he reaches his destination. Kidd may has figured out that Shanks is hard to locate in the New World so he would need to do something to catch his attention and to do so, he has to attack someone that he knows is close to Shanks or attack an island that is under the protection of the Red Hair pirates. A likely territory could be the territory where Bartolomeo was in his cover story. Kid could attack this territory and incur Shank’s wrath. For a likely person that Kidd could attack, it most likely will be Buggy. This makes sense as after the Marineford arc, the world has discovered that Shanks and Buggy were both members of the Roger Pirates back in the day and that they both share a “brotherly” bond with one another. Kidd would see this as an opportunity to anger Shanks and attack Buggy. A battle ensues and Luffy will jump in to fight Kidd as Luffy has a connection with Buggy after escaping Impel Down and fighting during the Marineford battle together. Buggy, being incredibly scared, will use Luffy to fight his battle while putting on a false bravado. After the battle, one of two things happen: Buggy will take them to Shanks or Shanks will arrive at Buggy’s island. Whatever the case, Luffy and Shanks will finally meet up again while Kidd attempts to attack Shanks, but obviously Shanks being incredibly powerful, he can easily repel Kid’s attacks and push him back.

Shanks has always been a character we would meet again someday. Shanks gave Luffy the hat so that Luffy could give it back to Shanks after he has become a great pirate. When Luffy finally sees Shanks again, it’s going to be a reunion that readers will have waited for ever since the first chapter and be incredibly satifsying for them to reunite and share the adventures that these two characters have gone through since they have last seen each other. Shanks can finally meet the crew that Luffy would promise to form and surpass Shank’s own crew. Luffy will also meet Shank’s crew again and maybe Oda will give us new flashbacks that has Luffy meeting and forming bonds with other memebers of Shank’s crew. It would also be great if we get a flashback of Luffy meeting Shanks for the first time and how they met would be incredible. As they discuss with each other, Shanks could discuss about his connection with Roger, being a member of the Roger pirates and what he had discovered on Raftel. They could also discuss Bartolomeo and his attack on his territory and even have him locked up on Shank’s ship, including him into the arc as well. Shanks could also warn Luffy of Blackbeard and his true nature, telling Luffy that needs to be careful. Finally, we can figure out why Kidd has a conflict with Shanks.

The 4th and last Road Poneglyph could be under the protection of Shanks. It would make sense storytelling wise and could create a very compelling reason for Shanks and Luffy in terms of a future fight between the two and as characters. During the Marineford Arc, Whitebeard told Blackbeard that he isn’t the person that Roger wants to find his treasure. Since Roger told Whitebeard everything about the Will Of D. and the Void Century, Whitebeard knows just as much as the Roger Pirates do. This gives the reader the idea that Roger was looking for a specific person to find One Piece and reclaim the title of Pirate King. Since Shanks was a member of the Roger Pirates, Shanks knows exactly who Roger is looking for. Since the straw hat held alot of sentimental value for Shanks since the hat was originally Roger’s, Shanks wouldn’t give his hat to just anyone. When Shanks gave it to Luffy, he had complete faith that Luffy would be the next Pirate King. Shanks is protecting the last Road Poneglyph because he is waiting for someone worthy of Pirate King to reach Raftel. Many powerful pirates around the world are seeking the stones to become Pirate King and Shanks being a former member of the Roger Pirates has an obligation to help Roger’s will continue. Since Shanks believes Luffy will be the Pirate King, he must waiting for Luffy to face him and get the stone so he could reach Raftel. Shanks could also be protecting it so Blackbeard doesn’t get a chance to get the stone. It’s well known that Shanks has always been incredibly wary of Blackbeard and his advances. Shanks must know who Blackbeard truly is and his goals to be Pirate King. To ensure that doesn’t happen, Shanks must protect the stone from falling into the wrong hands. I think having Luffy fight Shanks and defeat him for the stone makes perfect sense for many reasons. Firstly, to become the Pirate King, Luffy must be the strongest pirate in the world. Luffy must rise above the Yonko and claim his title. Since Shanks a member of the Yonko, Luffy defeating a Yonko one-on-one demonstrates how powerful Luffy has become. Secondly, Luffy has been training and getting strong so he could one day fight and surpass Shanks as a pirate and this is the perfect opportunity to do.

A theme that would perfectly fit this arc is the Passing Of The Torch And The Next Generation. Roger started the Golden Age of Piracy, and created a massive ballon of pirates to set sail to find Roger’s treasure. Shanks, who was a part of Roger’s crew, grew up to be an incredibly powerful pirate. Shanks then passed his torch down to Luffy, who has become part of the Worst Generation as well as Kidd. Luffy inspired Bartolomeo, who has now pledged himself under the Straw Hat Pirates’ flag. The passing of the torch is important as a powerful will can not be subdued and can’t be let go. Someone’s will can not be broken, but can only be inherited.

Whitebeard’s Home Island Arc

While some may view this as a stretch in regards to the journey the Straw Hats are taking in the New World, I believe that this arc is esstential to visit, especially for Luffy’s journey as a character. This can be backed up with the evidence that Oda has been placing as recent as Dressrosa and as far back as Marineford Arc.

I believe this arc to be incredibly important as this island has Marco, former 1st division commander of the Whitebeard Pirates, who is staying on the island as a guardian. He wants to protect the island as this island was the one in which is captain, Whitebeard, was born and raised in. Marco felt responsible and obligated to protect the homeland of his former captain due to the love he has given him since he joined his crew. This is also where Ace and Whitebeard were buried, making this island incredibly sentimental for the Whitebeard Pirates. When Blackbeard invaded, the Whitebeard Pirates took action to protect their former captain’s homeland and fought the Blackbeard Pirates, fighting a war nicknamed the Payback War and eventually losing to the Blackbeard Pirates. Marco is the sole guardian of the island as he wants the people living in this peaceful land to continue living in peace and protect it from forces that mean to cause harm to the citizens of the island.

This arc has been hinted at for a number of reasons. Firstly, Edward Weevil and Miss Bakin are hunting for this island as they believe that Whitebeard is hiding his fortune on the island. Edward Weevil believes himself to the true son of Whitebeard and is hunting Marco to fight him and claim his rightful inheritance. Miss Bakin, Weevil’s mother, has a thirst for wealth and believes that Whitebeard, someone she has known for many years, has a fortune hidden away due to his incredibly successful career as a pirate. They will stop at nothing to find this island and on their journey, they have a left a wake of destruction against anyone who considers him to be a fraud who is trying to use Whitebeard’s name for monetary gain, as evidenced when Weevil defeated 16 pirate crews that were allied with Whitebeard during the battle of Marineford. After brutally defeating the A.O Pirates who were subordinates of the Whitebeard Pirates, they believe Monkey D. Luffy knows where Marco is located and are in active pursuit for him.

One of the paths that the story could take after Wano Country arc has ended could lead Luffy to the island where Marco is located. While the Japanese raw translation leaves the fate on whether Marco will join the battle in Wano quite ambiguous, many English translation has Marco staying behind on the island to protect it against the threat of Edward Weevil coming to the island and causing havoc on the island, hinting at a battle between Weevil and Marco. While Marco leaves a message for Luffy toNekomaushi, I believe that once Luffy obtains the message, Luffy will likely want to see Marco for clarifiaction on the message and to pay his respects to Marco for saving him during the Marineford war. If the story does move toward this direction, a number of things could happen. Firstly, Luffy can thank Marco in person for saving his life and taking care of Ace while he was alive. Secondly, Marco can take Luffy to Ace’s grave so Luffy can properly pay respects to Ace and thank him as well. Thirdly, Marco can tell Luffy what exactly happened during the Payback War and give full detail on who exatcly Blackbeard is as a character and what his agenda is. Marco can also give crucial detail about Whiteboard, who he was a person and his pirate life before he formed the Whitebeard Pirates and his probable connection to the Rox Pirates. If Izo is a part of Wano Country arc and he goes with the Straw Hats to see Marco, we could get a reunion of two Whitebeard commanders and get a history of the Whitebeard pirates and their allied captains, since we haven’t seen those characters since the Marineford Arc. Considering that we are currently in the Yonko Saga and Whitebeard was a Yonko before he died, it makes sense.

The arc can culminate to the arrival of Edward Weevil and Marco and Luffy fighting Weevil until his defeated. From this, we can truly discover if he’s really the son of the late Whitebeard or just a pawn in a scheme lead by Miss Bakkin to achieve a fortune that never actually existed. Marco will send Luffy with a dire message of Blackbeard and Luffy will continue his journey, having learned the absolute true nature of Blackbeard and add more emotional context for a future fight with Blackbeard.

A significant theme that I can see for this arc The True Nature Of Family, with Whitebeard being an orphan and having no blood relatives to care for him in his children, but grows up up to be a pirate that grows his own pirate crew that he viewed as his adopted family. However, one of his “sons” Blackbeard betrays his “father” and rebels against him, eventually killing him and taking everything he owns. Whitebeard’s adopted family, his crew, attempts to take revenge for their late father, but are unable to deliver vengeance on their twisted brother. Marco then spends his life on his father’s island, hoping that this deed will repay the insurmountable debt that he owes to his deceased father. Despite proclaiming being Whitebeard’s biological son and claiming that they are his true family, Edward Weevil and Miss Bakkin only go to visit Whitebeard’s home land for the money that he supposedly accumlated throughout his career, but to pay respects to their supposed family member. Being a peaceful village, usually when one is with family, they are at peace with one self and fill satisfaction, however, twisted family members who do not love, but hate only spreads negativity and destruction of one’s peace. This island being the final resting place showcases the peace and serenity one feels when with being at home and with family. Interestingly enough, the art and the design for this peaceful village appears to be inspired by the Alps. The Alps and the region is known for its peaceful and serene atmopshere and beautiful scenery. This contributes greatly to the theme of feeling peaceful with those you love, as when you’re with the ones you love, you feel at peace with yourself.

The Last Island Arc

I believe that this arc will be important before they reach Raftel. The intial belief is that all the routes of the Grand Line eventually converge on one island in the New World. The belief is that the last island of the Grand Line and The New World was Raftel, however, this was all changed when Inurashi and Nekomasuhi introduced the concept of the Road Poneglyphs and thus, the last island of the Grand Line and Raftel are two completely different islands that the Straw Hats will encounter on their journey. I do believe that the Straw Hats will travel to this last island before they reach Raftel.

Pirates who just entering the New World always have the idea that they could easily reach Raftel by simply traveling to the end of the New World, reach Raftel, find the One Piece and claim the title of Pirate King. However, once they finally reach the last island on the New World. They discover it’s not what think it is. According to Inurashi, this is the island where pirates looking for the One Piece would be introduced to the poneglyphs and introduced to the ancient civilization that built them. While the Straw Hats are on journey for Raftel and already discovered the existence of the poneglyphs and their importance to the overall narrative and journey, I believe that the Straw Hats should visit this island despite the fact. I say this because it all goes back what Rayleigh said back when they first met. During their meeting, Rayleigh told the crew that him and the Roger Pirates have discovered the true history of the world, however, they didn’t really understand it due to their lack of information regarding the Void Century and the Ancient Kingdom. It makes sense for the Straw Hats to visit the island to get more context and understanding of the Ancient Kingdom. Robin has studied the Ancient Kingdom and the poneglyphs for many years since she was a child and surely knows a lot, however, I believe Robin needs more knowledge in order to fully understand the true history of the world and this Last Island is a great place to go. I’m sure this island becomes significant during the Void Century and a link to the kingdom that existed a long time ago. This island could even be where the Ancient Kingdom lived and prospered before being annihilated by the Twenty Kingdoms(i.e The World Government).

Raftel Arc

This arc has been hinted at when the Straw hats first entered the Grand Line. This is the goal that Luffy has been training to reach. This is the place where Gol D. Roger, The Pirate King, said that his treasure The One Piece was here. This is where Luffy will finally become the Pirate King. However, Luffy can’t become the Pirate King without having to face some kind of challenge to achieve it.

There are many theories in regards to what will happen during this arc. Is there something else waiting for Luffy besides the One Piece? Is there a challenge that Roger left behind before you can find the One Piece? Many members of the fandom believe that a very likely scenario will happen during this arc: The Straw Hats will arrive on the island, excited and anxious on finding on the One Piece. As they explore Raftel, someone will approach the Straw Hats, and that someone would be Blackbeard. He has been making big moves in the New World for the past two years in order to secure his position as the strongest pirate alive, The Pirate King. Oda has been making it very clear to set up how incredibly similiar they are and are much of complete opposites they are. Blackbeard had brought his crew over to take over Raftel and this is when a battle between the Straw Hat Pirates and Blackbeard Pirates will clash with one another. Many people believe that Luffy will face Blackbeard on Raftel for the title of Pirate King.

I believe that Raftel will be a place where a battle of supremacy will take place for all the big game pirates will come and attempt to take the title for themselves. People like Kidd and Law or other members of the Worst Generation could appear to take the title for themselves if they wanted to.

This arc could very much tackle the themes of Forbidden Knowledge and Destiny. The information that the Straw Hats are going to discover are going are incredibly taboo in their society and thus, once the World Government discovers Raftel. The World Government will send their forces in hope to wipe out the Straw Hats and anyone who discovers the true history. While the Roger Pirates did discover the true history of the world, they could do nothing about it due to Gol D. Roger on the brink of death due to his incurable disease and because they did not fully understand the true history of the world due to their lack of knowledge and understanding of the Void Century. While they could not doing anything after discovering the true history, Roger and later Whitebeard both believed that someone later down the line will inherit Roger’s will and complete what Roger himself couldn’t do. Throughout the story, Oda have made parallels to Luffy and Roger with Luffy have an identical personality to Roger in every aspect. Even Shanks, a member of the Roger pirates and an appentice to Roger, fully believed that Luffy was the embodiment of Roger and has full faith that Luffy will become a great pirate much like Roger was. Shanks passing on the straw hat is likened to passing on a torch. It once belonged to Roger, who gave it to Shanks, and then passed it on to Luffy. The straw hat also takes on a whole new meaning as well as it’s been hinted during the Reverie Arc that the straw hat is linked to the Will of D and the Void Century. The theory is that the straw hat in Mariejois was used as a crown or a symbol of power in the Ancient Kingdom and that the ruler of the Ancient Kingdom was known as the Pirate King. If this theory holds true in any form, this could imply that Roger’s will was a will that was being passed down since the Ancient Kingdom was wiped out. Since Luffy both holds the middle intial D and the straw hat, Luffy bears hundreds of years of history on his shoulders and must finally complete the will that has been going on for so many years. Looking at everything, Luffy was destined to become the Pirate King and complete the objective of those before him who couldn’t do it.

Final War Saga

This saga was to be expected after Luffy finds the One Piece. During the Marineford Arc, Whitebeard was on the brink of death. Whitebeard’s last words to the world is that someone will, indeed, find the One Piece again and when One Piece is found, a massive war will engulf the world. While the One Piece hasn’t been found yet, there have been hints of something massive brewing in the background. At the end of the Dressrosa arc, Doflamigo talked about the powerful pirates and figures in the New World are preparing to face a massive battle, a battle for supremancy. Indeed, when a Pirate King is finally crowned, many people will jump towards taking the crown for themselves. Meaning that pirates around the world will attempt to fight the Pirate King to take the their crown. Meanwhile, the marines are attempting to to allivivate the firestorm and chaos that will happen. The marines will also stop at nothing to kill or capture the Pirate King so they can bring peace to the seas. During this chaotic scene, the Revolutionary will finally have the opportunity to raid Mariejois and rage war against the Celestial Dragons. Many significant will occur during this period that will plunge the world into a state of darkness.

Mary Geoise Arc

As to what happens to the Straw Hats after claiming the title of the best of the best are a few things. Firstly, they will discover the truth of the world, they will finally know the true history of the Void Century. After discovering the truth, The Straw Hats will probably want to start a conflict with the World Government. They would know the disgusting truth of the Twenty Kingdoms and the World Government’s true nature. Follwing the philsophy of freedom, Luffy would want to fight the toxicity of the World Government. This path could put him in correlation with Luffy’s father, Monkey D. Dragon and his revolutionary ideology. With this path, Luffy can reunite with Sabo again and finally meet his biological father. We can finally see Dragon’s past and why he began the revolutionary movement against the World Government.

This arc was first hinted at when Mary Geoise was first revealed. A location filled with immensely powerful political figures that are incredibly spoiled, twisted and manipulative people that use thier status alone to perform malicious deeds such as owning and torturing slaves known as the Celestial Dragons. Luffy has had an encounter with one of these Celestial Dragons. In fact, he punched one right in the face for hurting one of his friends. Another indication that this arc was forshadowed was when Doflamingo was giving his speech at the end of the Dressrosa arc and stated that the Celestial Dragons need to be careful as they are going to be dragged from their high horse. This suggest and hint a revolution against the Celestial Dragons will occur and that they aren’t going to hold much power for much longer. The arc was further hinted when Dragon, the leader of the revolutionary army, states that he’s going to declare war on the Celestial Dragons.

A very significant theme for this arc is the Abuse Of Power And Status. The Celestial Dragons have been abusing their power for many years since the Twenty Kings of the Twenty Kingdoms waged war against the Ancient Kingdom and won. Since their dominance over the world, they believe that they were entitled to such power due to being descendants of the original Twenty kings. Ever since gaining such power, they abused to the point that crossed many ethical and moral boundaries, such as owning and torturing slaves, and shedding innocent blood. The Revolutuonary Army however, believe them to the sole reason that the world is so poisoned and corrupt. This is the reason Monkey D. Dragon have grew the Revolutionary army so one day he could rise up against them and destroy the establishment of the Celestial Dragons so he could established a much better system of power for the World Government.

Momoiro Arc

There has been very little evidence to this arc happening, however, I believe Oda has put in very subtle hints that this arc might happen. Originally, it was going to be the Baltigo arc, but that was back before we realized that Baltigo was completely destroyed when the Blackbeard Pirates invaded the island to claim a weapons stache on the island. Since then, Momoiro has become the new base for the Revolutionary Army, due to her connection to Ivankov since he’s the queen of the island. Considering that virtually no one is going to track down the Revolutionary Army to the island, I believe that the Straw Hats will visit the island for and finally meet the Revolutionary Army and Monkey D. Dragon. The Straw Hats could then take part of Revolutionary Army’s war with teh Celestial Dragons and invade Mariejois or New Marineford.

Having the Okamas and the Revolutionary Army prepping for a war against the Celestial Dragons lays the groundwork for a pretty impactful theme; The Discrimination Against Those Who Oppose A Traditionalist System And A Part Of The LGBT+ Community. The World Government, run by humans, have established a society in which any who oppose the traditions of such society or any being that is considered a non-human, such as a Fishmen or a Giant. Okamas hold a non-traditional ideology of embracing the maiden’s way despite typically identifying as male. Ivankov has managed to change the status quo by being capable of changing someone’s gender and by being a ruler of a nation that people to pratice what they believe in. This allows someone true and complete freedom for anyone and this ideology very much works well in the Revolutionary Army. This theme is very much reflective in real life society. For many years in recent history, those who don’t identify as non-binary were severely discriminated against. The governments of the world saw people who identified as non-binary much like a disease and dragged them through the dirt, used mainstream media to taint their name and as time went on, words and concepts that didn’t follow the traditional heterosexual straight relationships were synoumous with disgust. Oda is using this theme for the Okamas to join the Revlutuonary Army to allow them to practice what they truly believe in.

New Marineford Arc

This arc definitely could happen based on many of the evidence that Oda have added into the manga. Firstly, this is based on the idea of contining one’s will. During the Marineford Arc, Akainu killed Ace and left a lasting scar on Luffy, Sabo, Garp, The Whitebeard Pirates and many of the pirates around the world. As Luffy was escaping, Marco has stated that Ace’s will will not die here and that someone else will take up Ace’s will. This was seen during the Dressrosa arc when Sabo fought for Ace’s fruit and eventually won and took on his power. Sabo then promises to fulfill Ace’s will and continue on his legacy. Seeing that both Sabo and Luffy have beef with Akainu, I believe one day they will return to enact their revenge.

I can see how this arc could go down. Straw Hats will probably invade New Marineford for a particular reason as they are engaging marine forces, The Straw Hat Grand Fleet will appear and assist them. Now the full force of the Straw Hat Pirates will be unleashed and New Marineford will be under siege. As the battle rages on Sabo will probably appear due to having Luffy’s vivre card and having a vendetta against Akainu.

I can see that this arc can having the theme of Revenge And Rebirth. Revenge is incredibly significant as both Sabo and Luffy have a hatred and want Akainu to pay for his crimes of killing their brother. I say rebirth as the marines have been reborn to become an incredible offensive force to eliminate and control the New World, a different philosophy that they held before the timeskip under Sengoku. The new marine force also comes with a New Marineford, which looks better and stronger than the old Marineford. The Straw Hats have also gone under rebirth as they have become stronger, wiser and an overall a menancing force in the New World, especially with the Straw Hat Grand Fleet under their wing.

Moon Arc

Something that Oda has teased and showcased before, but hasn’t gone back or been mentioned since is the Moon. Yes, the Moon is a location that people can visit and explore in the One Piece world. While we don’t know how or when the Straw Hats will visit in the Moon, we do know that an arc on the Moon is going to happen.

We first saw the Moon can be located during Enel’s cover story. During the Skypia arc, Enel was building a large flying ship that could take him to the Moon or “Fairy Vearth” as he called it. At the end of the arc, Enel takes his ship to the Moon. During the Enel’s cover story, he arrives at the Moon with no seemingly no problem whatsoever, despite the Moon being in space and space having no oxygen, but that doesn’t seem to be the problem. Throughout the cover story, Enel encounters other life and other beings on The Moon. The machines on the moon show Enel the ancient writings that are written inside a cave. Enel then takes over the machine and other life on the Moon, hoping to build an empire on the Moon.

While it seems incredibly odd for people to even get to the Moon, Oda would never add something that he isn’t going to use later in the story. Oda as a master storyteller would always planted seeds that would later flourish and come to fruition later in the story. Since the Moon had ancient writings of people who have lived there previously, this location becomes crucial to the lore of the One Piece world. As fans are very familiar with, One Piece has a mysterious and rich history that many fans have been attempting to put together for years. Having this cave featured and teased provides the reader that the Moon is much more important than readers believe it to be. Considering the mysterious nature and lack of information that readers have in regards to history of One Piece, especially the Void Century. Readers have been very anxious to know the true history of the world.

Sniper Island Arc?

While not alot of readers know or even care about this arc, I believe that this could actually exist, albiet have a very brief appearance in the story. I do believe that we are going to see a Sniper Island at some point in the story. The reasoning for this is due to the fact that Usopp’s lies always come true. Throughout the story, a running gag for Usopp is that the lies that he has told are actually true. During the early portions of the story, Usopp has lied to Kaya, his close friend and love interest, to entertain her when she was bored. For example, he told a lie about landing on an island that was actually the droppings of a massive goldfish. This lie came true when he actually landed on a small island that was actually a dropping of a sea king that looked identical to a goldish. During the Enies Lobby arc, Usopp took on a false identity as Sogeking, the king of Sniper Island. While it’s just a false identity, I believe that there is some truth to this identity.

Usopp has always been known as liar, someone who’s lies actaully come true. Usopp’s lies could very much actually have been based on an actual person who holds an actual title of Sogeking that rules over an island of Snipers. Oda has done it before. During the Post Enies Lobby arc, Sanji’s bounty poster was a drawing of him that doesn’t really look like him, causing him to be upset that they don’t have an actual picture of him. However, the crudely drawn bounty poster of Sanji turned out to actually be a real person, Duval, who held a grudge against Sanji due to being confused with Sanji and being hunted down by bounty hunters and marines for something he didn’t do. Oda could easily deploy the same idea for Usopp’s lies if he wants to continue the running gag.

Other Arcs

I can see the Straw Hats venturing into the other seas such as the North Blue and the South Blue. This allows the Straw Hats to visit other countries and islands instead of just the Grand Line. I say this as the most big name pirates have traveled around the world. This makes sense for Nami’s dream, as she wants to make a map of the entire world, however, she can’t make a map of the world with traveling just to the Grand Line. So it makes sense that the Straw Hats travel to other blues, before she settles herself back down in the East Blue.

The other Straw Hats have yet to achieve their dreams yet. Zoro has yet to face Mihawk and defeat, but we don’t know when or where that will take place. Sanji has yet to find the All Blue, but we don’t know where that is. Nami has yet to achieve her dreams without traveling around the world. Usopp has yet to achieve his dreams of being a true warrior of the sea as he’s still cowardice. Robin hasn’t achieved her dreams yet, but it could end during the Raftel Arc, but it could continue forward depending on the circumstnaces of discovering the true history. Franky’s dream has been finished until the Straw Hats disband, as Frank wants the Thousand Sunny to be the best and strongest ship that can handle all of the their wild adventures. Brook has yet to meet Laboom again after many years of being apart. Jinbe has yet to estbalish true freedom and peace for the Fishmen species. The story can not end the story without every member of the Straw Hats’ dreams being achieved. There are characters who have done virtually nothing throughout the story like Dragon, Shanks, and the Gorosei. There are characters like Gecko Moriah, Crocodile, Koby, Helmoppo, Garp, Senkgoku, Rayleigh and many other characters who Oda has featured in world building segements for brief moments, but they have yet to do anything and Oda would never finish a story without having all narrative threads tied together once the last chapter is written.

The One Piece manga has been a series that has been going on for an incredibly long time. While the story isn’t even close to ending, One Piece has many other story arcs and narrative threads that the reader can continue to enjoy the plethora of story that Oda has yet to write. For now, we can only just continue the vast story that Oda has written and drawn so far.
