changing music software to abelton live 10 lite i bought a novation launchpad mini mark two. i posted about this before over at newgrounds and on wordpress.

just recently released mini looks really sharp
the previous generation of launchpads used usb type b

basically it only took six months for me to be living in the past. i used abelton live before (on the apple eaten fallen project) using mostly reason for nonferrous nature and managed obsolescence tracks. so, i was already kind of living in the past. originally, i started making music for online publishing using fruity loops (now fl studio) with the first vodka on the lawn project. at some point i’ll probably go back to that software next.

the screenshot below has to do with what audio files to publish and with what resolution they are processed. the speaker icon shows where you are monitoring when you decide to export. (to change the monitoring sample rate open the options menu, select preferences, then select audio and change the setting there.)

i’d been monitoring at 48000Hz. i then tried exporting at 96000Hz.

here’s the drive folder with wav audio, mp3s, and abelton live 10 lite source files: https://drive.google.com/open?id=19EXVeVPxHXDSjTsmSmtNiwJDz2cKPP5W

really noticeable the difference between the 96kHz and the 48kHz mixes. the quality of live’s mp3 cbr320 encoding sounds pretty good when compared to the wav files. think for most of the files i’m going to post i’ll just post the mp3 versions (the better resolution files probably matter most for remixing or compressing to a preferred format).

the live source files in the google drive link above are using two instruments, each with one ‘effect’.

the first track uses

mps by fullbucket music

and

doppler dome by aegean music

with the second (of eight available) track using

u-no-62 by tal software

and an abelton tuner ‘effect’ so i could have an idea where track two was. :)
