I’m not an American. I admit that I don’t know the specific ins and outs of the American political system. I do know that, effectively, the President is elected by a college of around 600 individuals.

From what I read, it also seems that Trump has broken numerous conventions, procedural rules and perhaps [probably] even laws. It is also quite clear that Trump has made appointments in the style of the old British ‘Grace and favour’ appointments — except in Trump’s case there is certainly no grace.

This man has also lied and contradicted himself, abused other individuals from the man/woman in the street to heads of state. He is known to have personally abused and demeaned women and to have exploited workers on his projects, as well as having deprived hundreds if not thousands of their rightful income by having his companies apply for bankruptcy on at least 12 occasions.

He has attacked basic human decency and personal rights, demeaned the non-heterosexual community and expressed obnoxious views in the bigoted language of the ignorant and/or uneducated.

Now, I discover that this man (?) has derided another real man who put his life on the line for his country.

Trump CLEARLY has neither the ethics nor the morals that one would expect of the President of the United States of America, the country that has led the Free World and stood for freedom, democracy and the rule of law since its establishment by wise founding fathers.

So, can someone please explain to me why this man is not removed from an office which he clearly regards as his personal privilege to do with what he likes? Why has he not been impeached, charged with illegal behavioura nd put in front of a court, or removed on the basis that he is clearly unfit to hold the office of President?

As far as I can see from following commentary in the news and from all manner of political commentators from academics to economists to social justice advocates, this man is anathema to all that the USA has stood for throughout its history. Why is he still there with a hand on the nuclear trigger?

No, I’m not American, but all that America does has a ripple effect that seriously impacts most, if not all, of the other nations in the World. That this man holds office frightens me. Doesn’t it frighten you?
