non sibi ventures adds Leading Policy Advisor Lawrence Duncan III to Support Portfolio Companies
By Sid Smith, General Partner at non sibi ventures
We’re thrilled to add our long-time friend, Monument Advocacy partner Lawrence Duncan III, as Policy Advisor to non sibi ventures. My Co-founder Kent Lucas has known Larry since their college days at Harvard, and Larry and I were classmates at the University of Virginia Law School and first-year summer associates together at a Richmond, VA law firm.
Larry, based in Washington D.C., is a government affairs expert, strategic advisor, and corporate attorney with over twenty-five years of experience representing Fortune 500 companies, leading growth companies, and national trade associations. In 2020, Larry joined Monument Advocacy as a partner and prior to that, he founded Potomac Policy Advisors, a boutique government affairs and consulting firm, where he advised several major technology companies on a range of issues. Larry also worked as a senior corporate government affairs executive for 15+ years in the defense aerospace industry and practiced for 7+ years at two major DC law firms. He began his career as a member of the U.S. Senate floor staff, where he worked for the Secretary of the Senate.
Our portfolio companies will benefit greatly from Larry’s decades of experience providing strategic advice, legislative advocacy, and counsel to clients across multiple business sectors, including technology, transportation, and energy. Access to our extensive network of global companies, executives, thought leaders, and top advisors such as Larry give non sibi ventures’ portfolio companies a critical edge in building category-defining businesses, technologies, and products.
