Awesome achievement by Dutch startup founder Steinar Henskes
It’s been one crazy week for our portfolio startup Bird Control Group & founder Steinar Henskes after being crowned “Global Student Entrepreneur of the Year” leaving more than 2,000 (!) entrepreneurs behind him.
Each year the Entrepreneur’s Organization (EO) hosts the Global Student Entrepreneurship Awards (GSEA).
Steinar competed against 2,000 top student entrepreneurs from 38 countries through a series of national and regional competitions. Besides the prestigieus Award he also received $20,000 from EO to help successfully continue his entrepreneurial journey.
Steinar Henskes: “Being part of the global EO family means that I have access to 10,000 members and a network of entrepreneurs that will help me lead Bird Control Group for years to come. I’m grateful, excited and a little overwhelmed with it all.”

It’s good news for Bird Control Group. It’s even better news for the Dutch startup community as a whole. Let’s hope we can celebrate more Dutch entrepreneurial successes in the coming year!
