Can you relate? The real life struggle of building a passion project (Fashion) making 40K a year… Part 1

Via Forbes list; there’s a documentary coming out detailing the journeys of 5 startup founders. The good, the bad & the ugly. And I’m excited for this!!! I remember thinking, I wish someone will film our process. Raw and uncut!
Most people (millenials) only see the glamorous side of being an entrepreneur. No one wants to take time to do homework/research to read and know exactly all that it entails.
I can’t tell you how many times I’ve gone back to re-read stories of all the greats in an attempt to learn from their mistakes or just simply be prepared for what lies ahead… albeit everyone’s story is different.
So far, our journey hasn’t been all that bad… (thanks to meditation). But it’s definitely been challenging (VERY). I graduated not too long ago (May 2015) with a Masters in HR & going into the real world (completely unprepared for the “REAL WORLD”), I had such a skewed idea of just how much I would be making! S.M.D.H!
About 10 months down the line, I find an entry level job, out of state, school loans, credit cards (2), car note, housing, food, life… O.M.G!!! How do I survive?! Without realizing, I start looking for an escape. So I immersed myself into tech (my first love & passion… HR was just because… I was lost). I started reading every single day (Still do)… & listening to folks like Napoleon Hill, Jim Rohn, Gary Vaynerchuk, Will Smith, Toni Robins, Oprah, Eric Thomas, Wayne Dyer… the list goes on. But these are my faves!
These people gave me so much hope and confidence! They allowed me to see the bigger picture. They made it so I worked with the end in mind. Because of them I was able to draft up new goals for myself & my team. When Nooremac first started last year, July 2016, we had no idea how we were going to fund this project.
After months of hard work, staying motivated (It was tough somedays), praying & meditating to stay level headed, we finally launched our fashion social networking platform, Nooremac — Designers Unlabeled.
How did we do it??? With one full-time income??? Stay tuned for Part 2.
